  • Getting Summer Ready With Foam & Fortune Body Products In Tesco!

A range that’s recently caught my eye while checking out the personal care aisles of my local Tesco is a brand called Foam & Fortune. I’m not too sure how new they are, but they seemed perfect to try out as the weather gets warmer and sunnier. So what products did I find?

Foam & Fortune Body products in Tesco
    Chill Out Body Butter

Fragranced in coconut and lime, this body butter looked thick and luxurious in its brightly labelled pot. An unusual fragrance combination that should be tropical, fruity and slightly zesty and fresh. 250ml priced at £4.50.

Foam & Fortune’s Chill Out Body Butter
    Rise & Shine Body Butter

Pink grapefruit in flavour so I’m hoping this is fruity, slightly sweet and citrus blend, perfect for summer use. Similar formulation as Chill Out, same packaging (just different colour labelling which matches the fragrance name) same price and size.

Foam & Fortune’s Rise & Shine Body Butter
    Positive Energy Body Scrub

Positive Energy Body Scrub comes in the fragrance of orange and mango. If this doesn’t scream summer nothing else does! This looks and sounds like an effective body scrub that doesn’t dry the skin out and actually moisturises. 300g for £5.00.

Foam & Fortune’s Positive Energy Body Scrub
    Rise & Shine Body Scrub

Pink grapefruit in fragrance and looks just as rich and decadent as Positive Energy. Perfect body care partner to Rise & Shine in the body butter which makes the ideal layering partnership.

Foam & Fortune’s Rise & Shine Body Scrub
    Pear & Freesia Bath Fizzer

This is quite large in size and a basic flower shape. The scent of this was pleasant and another fruity fragrance in this whole collection. 120g for only £2.75.

Foam & Fortune’s Pear & Freesia Bath Fizzer
    Berry Blast Bath Fizzer

Another generously sized bath fizzer but this time berry scented. Just as fruity in smell but very different to Pear & Freesia. Berry Blast comes in a simple 5 pointed star shape with purple and white marbling colouring throughout. Same price and same weight as Pear & Freesia.

Foam & Fortune’s Berry Blast Bath Fizzer
    Sweet Pomegranate Soap Bar

A nice, almost handmade looking bar of soap which smelt really good even though it was wrapped in plastic. Sweet pomegranate in scent, white red and pink in colour and only £3.50 for 140g.

    First impressions?

These products look fun. Great sizes, brightly labelled with products that work well with each other and can be slotted nicely into a body care routine. Prices aren’t expensive and quite affordable and I genuinely would like to try this range out. Available in store (possibly store dependant) and online. So why not give these products a go? I hopefully will!

  • New Discovery! Daise Bath & Body Products in Tesco

There’s nothing nicer than seeing new products available on the high street. Sometimes too much choice can be overwhelming. But if you’re a lover of products for the face and body like I am, you won’t be overwhelmed more excited over new finds. This is how I felt when I discovered a brand called Daise in my local Tesco store. So what is Daise and what products do they have?

    Daise Bath & Body Products
    Daise

Daise is a brand that is about having fun, wanting people to enjoy their products physically and emotionally. Not a brand taking itself too seriously from what I can tell but still want to deliver good quality products. Their products include body mists, body scrubs, lip balms, bath bombs and body washes.

    Body Scrubs

It was the Vanilla Glow Body Scrub that caught my eye first in Tesco. A massive size of 510g. Packaged in a clear pot so the scrub is visible. The scrub itself looks decadent, rich in texture (I’m a texture girl) and very moisturising. In Tesco i found Vanilla Glow, Pineapple Glow and Pomegranate Glow. £8.00 each.

    Daise Vanilla Glow Body Scrub
    Body Wash

Housed in an aerosol looking can and in the fragrance Coconut Whip, this body wash definitely looked fun, interesting and a little different to standard body washes on the market. Designed to be moisturising, an effective body cleanser while leaving skin lightly scented. Daise’s Coconut Whip Body Wash costs £5.00 for 265ml.

    Daise Coconut Whip Body Wash
    Lip Balm

Packaging was eye catching for this product as I originally thought it was a bath bomb! Very Vanilla Hydrating Lip Balm aims to do everything that most lip balms do which is moisturise, easy to use and have a nice fragrance to it. This costs only £2.50.

    First impressions?

I like this range! I love the packaging of each product. Each product looks vibrant, but not in a way that is geared just towards a younger market. The sizes are decent, especially the body scrub. And the fragrances these products are in tick all my favourite scent boxes. All perfect for Summer use. The prices aren’t the cheapest, especially for the body wash. So if I was to purchase these it would be more for gifting or occasional personal use. But do I want to try any of these? Oh yes! The scrub looks AMAZING!

There are other products and fragrances from this brand but they weren’t all stocked in my local Tesco. Will I be purchasing any of these? Wait..and..see….

  • New! Affordable Fragrances in Tesco!

One of the best places to go for EVERYTHING has got to be a supermarket. It’s a one stop shop for food to clothing, electricals to plants and make-up to fragrance. What I like about the fragrance side of things is how you can pick up more affordable fragrance products thanks to supermarkets having a variety of different brands with different price points. I’ve just spotted something new in my local Tesco from a brand called Skin Saints. 12 different fragrances in eau de parfum formulas. So what do they have?

Affordable Fragrances in Tesco from Skin Saints
    Dark Flowers

A heavier, darker fragrance with notes of ylang ylang, exotic orchid and black truffle. This sounds like a perfect fragrance for night time wearing.

    Gold

A mix of amber and spice which should be warming and slightly woody in scent.

    Cerise

Cherry and almond blossom based fragrance, which makes me think this will be a fruity, floral fragrance with a slight sweetness to it.

    Santal

Sandalwood and warm spice is Santal. Could this be a more masculine fragrance with its woody and spicy notes?

    Tuscany

This DEFINITLY sounds like a manly fragrance of soft leather and saffron. This combination sounds like a traditional scent for someone who wants a more predictable, masculine fragrance to wear.

    Miss Paris

A slightly flirty sounding fragrance with floral and light iris with the added depth of patchouli.

    Wild

Fresh, clean, energising and zesty is what I think the fragrance Wild could be, as its made up of citrus and amber.

    Principle

Another woody based fragrance. Principle is made up of bergamot and cedar.

    Passion

Jasmine and tonka makes Passion seems like a rich floral with a slightly vanilla-esq undertone.

    Rouge

A deep, heavier woody, musky scent with possibly spicy undertones is potentially what the fragrance Rouge smells like.

    Millie

Light, fruity and floral fragrance made up of golden peach and jasmine. Millie sounds like a very pretty, feminine scent perfect for Spring and Summer use.

    Flower Chain

Flower Chain scent wise is white violet and sandalwood, so another floral scent with depth and woody musk behind it.

    First impressions?

This is an impressive selection of fragrances. 12 fragrances which from their name and what they’re made up of sound very different to each other which means variety. I love the simplicity of how they’re packaged, all the same but different colours and patterns on the boxes. And the price? At full price (£8.00 for 100ml) this is great value for an eau de parfum formula. Do I find these new fragrances appealing? Yes I do. Am I going to buy one? Most definitely…so watch this space!

P.S Did I mention these are supposed to be dupes of well known designer fragrances? My interest in these continues….

  • Jo Malone Candle & Reed Diffuser Dupes in Tesco

Dupes, or if worded nicely ‘inspired by’ products, have been around for years. But these days you can find them anywhere and everywhere, and as consumers we are lapping them up! Most of us are fully aware you won’t get an identical copy of the original product, but hope to get something similar and much cheaper than the ‘real’ thing. One brand that has ‘inspired’ many home fragrance products is Jo Malone. My local Tesco stocks their own dupe versions in candles and reed diffusers. So what did I find and how much did they cost?

Jo Malone Candle & Reed Diffuser Dupes in Tesco
    No 1 Pomegranate

A slightly fruity but very smoky scent which isn’t for the faint hearted. Not subtle at all, instantly recognisable and great for both men and women.

    No 1 Pomegranate
No 3 Mandarin Lime & Basil

Slightly citrus with a herby hit to it. This type of scent is quite fresh and clean but not in the traditional sense.

No 3 Mandarin, Lime & Basil
No 4 Noir Myrrh & Vanilla Bean

Warming, creamy vanilla with what I call an incense type of scent mixed into it. Anyone that loves vanilla with a dark undertone to it would love this (like me!).

No 4 Noir Myrrh & Vanilla Bean
No 5 Damask Rose & Oud

Damask Rose & Oud is a special rose based fragrance which is dark, rich, slightly smoky with musk. I’m not a fan of rose, especially the old fashioned type, but this is stunning!

No 5 Damask Rose & Oud
What do these fragrances come in?

Each of these fragrances are available in a 100ml reed diffuser, and in candle form in 3 different sizes (300g, 700g and 1000g).

    Fragrances

I smelt all of these (candles), although quickly. They all had a great smell to them but there were some I personally preferred more than others. Are they accurate to the Jo Malone versions? Without owning and using the originals and comparing them to each other I can’t say yes or no. But the scent descriptions are similar. The scents stand out alone without comparing to anything else which is the most important thing.

    Packaging

All of the reed diffusers come boxed and candles are all in glass jars with a gold lids. Fragrances No 1 and 3 are all in white with black lettering and detailing. And the candles are in clear jars. No 5 has exactly the same presentation but in red with gold lettering and jar is red not clear. No 4 is black with gold detailing and the jars are black. How these are presented does have a Jo Malone feel to them. They look simple but elegant and are attractive, especially No 4 and 5.

    Prices

All the reed diffusers are £6.00 each. The 300g candle is £4.00, 700g £10.00 and 1000g £14.00. These are not the cheapest priced home fragrance products available but for what you get completely fair.

I like the look of these products. Great to purchase for yourself or as gifts and the fragrances are good! In fact, I bought No 4 in the 300g candle as a Christmas gift for someone! If you shop in Tesco and are looking at purchasing candles or reed diffusers, these are items not to be sniffed at, especially if you’re a fan of Jo Malone!
