  • Are These New? Crystal Infused Home Fragrance Range In B&M

I’ve not visited my local B&M store for awhile, but spending a few minutes recently looking at their home fragrance ranges I spotted some interesting home fragrance products. I found products containing semi-precious stones, which I never saw on previous visits. So what was included in this range?

B&M’s crystal infused candles, wax melts and reed diffusers
    Wax Melts

The wax melts caught my eye first, since I’m a wax melt junkie! These come in the form of a wax melt snap bar, segmented with 8 sections to them. Each one housed in a clear, plastic container and costing only £1.50 each.

    Candles

The candles were quite large and weighty in feel thanks to being housed in a frosted glass jar. Each having two wicks rather than 1 to light. These were £4.00.

    Reed Diffusers

Typical looking reed diffusers with the glass bottle filled with fragrance and reeds separately housed in a sachet attached to it. £4.00 each.

    Fragrances

Each product (wax melts, candles and reed diffusers) comes in 4 fragrances named after the semi – precious stones/crystals they are inspired by (and I think contain):

    Aquamarine = Ylang and Musk

Clear Quartz = Gardenia and Vanilla

    Amethyst = Magnolia and Violet

Rose Quartz = Peony and Rose

I smelt all four of these and found them all to be quite nice. Amethyst had a slight Parma Violet scent to it, while the others were quite fresh in scent with floral backgrounds.

    How do these look?

Both the wax melts and the candles looked quite basic. But the crystals being visible on top of the set, white wax, gave them a slightly edgy and earthy look. The candles being set in coloured jars finished them off well. The reed diffusers looked like any standard reed diffusers but with a few stones sitting at the bottom of the liquid. These didn’t grab my attention as much and could have been a little more imaginative look wise but still pleasant enough on the eye.

    Overall impression?

I have no idea how new this range is but I like it! The scents smell nice, the overall appearance of each product is good with colouring of the labels tying in with the scents and stones used. Prices are budget friendly so offer great value for home fragrance and home decor products.

  • Home of Honey’s Golden Orchid Wax Melt Discs

Since I’m not much of a candle girl, wax melts are my go to for home fragrancing. I use and change them regularly depending on my mood, and how I want a room in my home to smell like. So, as you can imagine I have quite a sizeable collection of different shaped, coloured and fragranced wax melts. New wax melts that have been added to my collection were kindly given to me by UK based wax melt vendor Home of Honey. My current wax melting is Golden Orchid Wax Melt Disc. A pack of 6 costs £5.00.

    How do these look?

These came as a set of 6 and are disc shaped. Very thick and chunky in appearance. Cream in colour with a generous dusting of golden glitter on the top of them. These are simple in look but really do look beautiful and matches the fragrance name perfectly.

    Fragrance

This has a laundry style scent to it. It’s a mix of different florals which gives it a sweetness and a feminine feel. Plus it has powdery notes giving an added cleanness. It’s a great fragrance and smells quite expensive too.

    In melt

It took a little time to melt through because this is quite a chunky wax melt. But when it did there was a gold circle almost embedded into the clear, molten wax. The fragrance was there immediately even before the wax was heated through.

    Strength & Longevity

Strength of Golden Orchid was light to medium. I used one whole disc in the wax warmer in my living room and half a disc in the hallway. I got the fragrance in both these areas but it wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be. I’m used to laundry inspired fragranced to be at times overpowering which this wasn’t. It did behave differently in the two rooms so I would be interested in trying another room to see how it performs. Longevity wise I had this melting for 2 days until I wanted to change the wax melt and the fragrance was still there.

    Recommended?

Golden Orchid is a beautiful fragranced piece of wax. I can’t see many people not liking it. Not everyone wants a power house wax melt and if you want something that isn’t, this is perfect. If you want something stronger, I would try something else. Home of Honey has LOTS of different wax melts available in different fragrances to choose from. Using the code KARINA30 you can get a 30% off discount on your order which means you can sample what they have to offer.

  • New Wax Melts Delivery From Home of Honey

Wax melts is one of those home fragrance products you can purchase from anywhere. But I still find that small businesses that focus on making and selling these products create the most imaginative wax melts for a home fragrance fix. One UK based wax melt vendor I’ve been introduced to is Home of Honey. They kindly gave me a selection of wax melts a few months ago, and recently sent another box of wax goodies for me to try out. So what did I receive and what did I think about them?

    Opium Goddess Wax Melt Shapes

Opium Goddess came in a variety of different shapes e.g flowers and hearts, in the colours of cream and black. Very striking because of the unusual choice of colours used. These will be easy to pop straight into a wax warmer.

    Lady Gold Wax Melt Brittle

This makes me think of Autumn with it’s gold and cream coloured wax brittle. Large shards of flat wax with faceted heart shapes embedded into it. Very beautiful and I will struggle melting this because it looks so good!

    Lady Gold Wax Melt Brittle
Mint Choc Chip Wax Melt Brittle

Mint Choc Chip Wax Melt Brittle already looks like how it’s fragranced because it’s dark green with splodges of brown running through it. I’m very interested to find out how true to life this smells because chocolate in wax form can be hit or miss.

Coconut & Shea Wax Melt Snap Bar

This is a 5 segmented wax melt snap bar which is cream in colour with a hint of soft purple running through it. Since it’s easy to to open, I could smell this and it smells gorgeous! It has a tropical scent to it which is the hint of coconut, with a creamy, comforting element to it which is the shea.

Home of Honey’s Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar

  • Home of Honey’s Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar

Why is home fragrance important? It sets a mood. A nice smelling home or room is inviting and comforting when you’re in it. On a practical level home fragrance products can get rid of the not so nice smells we all experience, such as cooking. These are just two reasons why home fragrance products, especially wax melts, are very popular. One wax vendor I’ve been introduced to is Home of Honey, who recently gifted me various wax melt products, including Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar. I’ve been melting this recently, so what is it like?

    Packaging

This wax melt snap bar comes in a plastic casing. I find these great because it keeps the wax secured inside and makes it very easy to store. Since the casing is clear, you can see the wax and the front is finished off with a simple but effective label.

    How does the wax look?

Lily of the Valley comes in a long, rectangular five segmented bar. It’s a buttery golden colour with a subtle gold shimmer running through it.

    Fragrance

Powdery, white florals. That’s the best and easiest way to describe how this smells. This isn’t the type of fragrance I normally go for but it’s pretty and the perfect fragrance to enjoy during Summer.

    In melt

I used Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar in two rooms in two different wax warmers. In one, with a slightly larger dish, I used two segments. In the other I used one. Both melted very quickly and left a gorgeous golden, shimmering wax pool behind.

    Strength & Longevity

This is medium strength wise. I rarely find floral based wax melts to be stronger than this so this is what I expected. It’s the perfect strength because it gives the air a natural fragrance rather than an over the top, heady one. Longevity I find is good. I’ve had both wax warmers on for two days with Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar melting for a good number of hours and I can still smell it. Although it’s not as strong as it was on day 1, I think overall it’s performed very well.

    Recommended?

I’ve enjoyed experiencing Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar. It comes across as quite a traditional floral fragrance which floral fragrance lovers should like. The powderiness of the scent gives it a very clean feel to it which I found very appealing. I would recommend this if you’re looking for Summer styled fragrances and floral based ones because it’s really nice and brings the outside in.

If you want to buy Lily of the Valley Wax Melt Snap Bar or other fragrances that are available, the wax melt snap bars only cost £2.50 each. There is a massive selection of different fragrances available if Lily of the Valley isn’t for you, including Rhubarb & Rose and Black Raspberry & Vanilla. Visit the website to see what’s available.
