  • Home of Honey’s English Pear & Freesia Wax Melt Brittle

A collection of wax melts was recently gifted to me by UK based wax vendor Home of Honey. In this box of goodies were wax melts in various shapes, sizes, colours and fragrances. The first one I grabbed to use straight away was English Pear & Freesia Wax Melt Brittle. I thought this would be the perfect scent to experience during a warmer season and it looked so enticing. So what is English Pear & Freesia Wax Melt Brittle like?

    Packaging

This wax brittle came in a sealed sachet. White, plain with a clear window on the front so you can see the wax inside. It’s a very basic form of packaging but it’s practical and looks really good and nicely presented. This would make a great gift look wise if given to a wax melt user and lover.

    How does it look?

English Pear & Freesia Wax Melt Brittle is flat, thin, irregular shaped pieces of wax. It’s not one block colour, but shades of green, pink and cream run through this. Finished off with a generous layer of glitter making the wax incredibly pretty.

    In melt

Since the wax melt brittle is quite thin, this wax melted very quickly and produced a shimmering soft green wax pool. The fragrance was released immediately as it melted away.

    Fragrance

I’ve used wax melts in this fragrance before from other wax vendors and this scent was exactly the same. This is a beautiful blend of pretty white florals, soft, sweet, juicy and clean pear with powdery notes running through it. English Pear & Freesia is a stunning fragrance which even floral haters will love!

    Strength & Longevity

This wax melt brittle is medium in strength. It started off quite soft and built up a little more strength wise in a natural way. Longevity wise, despite this not being a powerhouse type fragrance, does last.

    Recommended?

English Pear & Freesia is such a good fragrance and perfect for Spring and Summer melting. It’s fresh, pretty, and would appeal to most people because it’s THAT type of scent. Home of Honey have done a brilliant job in regards to how this smells and how this looks. 100% recommended!

50g of wax melt brittle comes in various fragrances, not just English Pear & Freesia, and only costs £3.00. Visit the website here to see what’s available and make the difficult choice of which fragrance to choose from!

  • My First Impressions Of Home of Honey Wax Melts

If you’ve read my blog, you will know how much I love wax melts. Using wax melts is my favourite way to fragrance my home and has been for years. You can pick up wax melts from anywhere on the high street but I still find small businesses who make and sell wax melts are the best. I was kindly gifted a selection of wax melts from a business called Home of Honey to try out. So what did I receive?

    3 Snap Bars

These came in the fragrances of Ghost, Belle and Lily of the Valley. All three beautifully coloured and 50g each, which will give hours of fragrance.

    A sachet of wax brittle

Wax brittle is flat, irregular (but sizeable) pieces of wax. This came in the fragrance of English Pear & Freesia. Lovely Spring/Summer colours of pinks and greens with a splash of glitter. Packaged well in a sealed sachet.

    2 Singular shapes

Included in this set was two single wax melts. One heart shaped and faceted. The other a chunky, cloud shape. The first is in the fragrance of Plum, Rose & Patchouli, the second is Rose Wonderland. Plum, Rose & Patchouli wax melt is perfect for that one time use because of the size. No cutting, just pop it straight in. Rose Wonderland needs chopping up because of it’s generous size and weight of 40g.

    2 Duos

2 small wax melts with each duo housed in a small sachet. Baby Powder is shaped in two rings and Angel Halo two faceted hearts.

A tube of 16 mini wax melts

16 mini cloud shaped wax melts in the fragrance of Savage, was the last in this collection from Home of Honey. 8 in a blue colour and the other 8 in a creamy/pinkish hue. These came in a clear plastic tube. I’ve never seen wax melts housed like this and I LOVE this idea! Very imaginative, practical, easy to store and easy to use.

    First impressions?

It’s obvious this wax vendor takes a lot of time, care and thought into how they want their wax to look and packaged. First impressions count and these ticked the box. The wax melts look great and are very appealing. Deliberately or not, all the colours came together almost themed, which I appreciated. The fragrances of the wax melts I received are a brilliant mix of designer fragrance dupes, Summer perfect scents and classics, which everyone will enjoy.

How do these smell? I’ve had a few sniffs while they are in their packaging and they all smell beautiful. They will be melted very soon, so wait and read what I thought of the performance of these wax melts.

In the meantime, check out Home of Honey’s wax melts products via their website to see what wax goodies they have available for purchase.

  • Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar Day 15 to 21

While my children get stuck in daily with their chocolate advent calendar, I’ve been enjoying the various products that have been included in my Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar from Glow. So far I’ve enjoyed wax melts and bath products from Day’s 1 to 7 and Day’s 8 to 14, but what did I find ‘behind’ Day’s 15 to 22?

    Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar
Day 15 Keys To The Kingdom Wax Melt

Think of bubble gum, cotton candy, those types of fragrances and this is what Keys To The Kingdom smells like. Sweet, sugary, fruity, gorgeous!

    Day 16 Positivity Wax Melt

A slighter cool, minty fragrance with strawberries mixed in. This reminds me of how candy canes smell like but even better. Great fragrance to melt over Christmas.

    Day 16 Positivity Wax Melt
Day 17 Bah Hum Bug Bubble Bath

The packaging of Bah Hum Bug Bubble Bath is just adorable! It’s housed in a small plastic bottle shaped like a bauble/Christmas light. This has an almost herbal, medicinal mint smell to it which is fresh and very different to any of the other minty scented products in this advent.

Day 18 Oat, Milk & Honey Bath Soak

A very relaxing and soothing bath soak which was the perfect way to end a stressful and busy day when I used this. Not an ordinary bath soak, but one filled with magnesium and dried flowers giving it a holistic and botanical feel.

Day 18 Oat, Milk & Honey Bath Soak
Day 19 A Trick Amongst The Treats Wax Melt

A brilliant and unusual citrus based wax melt. A Trick Amongst The Treats has a more lemongrass smell to it rather than lemon itself because it’s not particularly zesty. There’s definitely a hint of mint in this and overall a great fragrance with a herbal scent to it.

Day 20 The Perfect Christmas Room Spray

A fruity, berry based home fragrance product, possible cranberries or cherries, with a frosted wintery scent to it rather than sugary and obviously fruit based, if that makes sense?

Day 20 The Perfect Christmas Room Spray
Day 21 Mai Tai Hand Cream

Mai Tai Hand Cream is a rich, but not thick hand cream. Very nourishing on the hands and the scent is to die for! Zesty, citrus, lemon and very invigorating. Love this and love how it smells and moisturises my hands.

Day 21 Mai Tai Hand Cream

Although I’ve enjoyed every day of this advent calendar, Day’s 15 to 21 possibly more so. The different types of products for each day have been so varied from home fragrance, bath products and body products. All top quality.

  • Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar Day 8 to 14

When it comes to my Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar from Glow, I’ve enjoyed 7 days of beautifully scented and seasonally smelling wax melts. But from Day 8 it gets much more interesting because it’s not just wax melts in this advent calendar, but other goodies too. So what did I find behind Day’s 8 to 14?

    Glow’s Christmas 2023 Advent Calendar
    Day 8- Tropical Wax Melt

Tropical Wax Melt makes me think of oranges with cloves poked in them because this is a mix of spices and oranges. It has an almost bakery smell to it and is definitely a winter inspired fragrance.

Day 9-Peach Sparkles Foaming Bath Salts

An almost sweetie smelling peach fragranced bath product, and such a generous amount too! I’ve not had chance to use this as December has been very busy so far, but once I have my few days off for Christmas, I’m getting in the bath with this!

Day 9 Peach Sparkles Foaming Bath Salts
Day 10-The Essentials Box Wax Melt

Fizzy, clean and fresh citrus with vanilla giving it that added sweet and comforting feel that only vanilla can give. Essentials Box Wax Melt is stunning!

Day 11-Twisted Tinsel Foaming Hand Wash

Another body product which was a delight to see, especially with it being full sized. This hand care product smells just like strawberry Chewits sweets, which means I can’t put this out yet as it would last 2 seconds! Not even a standard hand wash but a FOAMING one! Impressive!

    Day 12-Family Love Wax Melt

Family Love Wax Melt is that mouth watering mix of lots and lots of berries! Fruity, fragrant yet somehow still has quite a winter feel to it.

Day 13- Family Love/Love Family Wax Melt

This is a sugary, sweet, vanilla fragranced piece of wax. It’s very rich and has a slight chocolate smell to it which would make any bakery scent lover happy.

Day 13 Family Love Wax Melt
Day 14-Cosy Nights In Wax Melt

Cosy Nights In has a minty, cooling, peppermint smell to it mixed in with strawberry. Perfect balance of sweetness, mint and fruit so not sickly, cold or heady.

Day 14 Cosy Nights In Wax Melt

So that’s Day 8 to 14 done and dusted. How exciting is it to see some bath and body products in this advent? Although the two mentioned I haven’t used yet I don’t want to rush using them, I want to take some time out to enjoy them. But they both smell amazing. All the wax, yet again, have smelt incredible and there hasn’t been one I haven’t enjoyed.

    Well done Glow!
