  • Last Minute Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Beauty Gifts In ASDA!

    I can see the appeal of Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The film is quirky, slightly dark and still a good family watch. The animations and characters are memorable and appeal to people of all ages. So no wonder there is so many products out there connected with this film.     5 bath fizzers in a cherry fragrance, which are circular in shape with a Jack Skellington image on the front. Nicely packaged, practically housed in a sachet and only £2.91.

    This comes in a small, cardboard box with characters from the film on the front. Cherry fragranced. This would make a great stocking filler and a good generic gift for someone who you’re not too sure what to buy for them. £1.00.

    This duo contains a body lotion and a body mist. Perfect to fragrance the body, in the cherry fragrance all of these products seem to be in. Decent sized products as the body lotion is 50ml and the body mist is 75ml. £2.95.

    Brush & Sponge Set

    Contains an angled powder brush, a fluffy eyeshadow brush, a silicone brush cleaner and a beauty blender sponge. From the packaging, it looks as if this set is pink, white and black in colour. Boxed and costs only £3.95.

    Nail Duo

    This duo contains one grey, matt looking polish and a sparkly, purple/pink nail polish. Both are beautiful shades that compliment each other or stand out individually. Very eye catching and great for nail polish lovers. £2.99.

    How good are these items? My only disappointment is the fragranced products all come in cherry. But this is great for those who love this scent and want to layer. But doesn’t offer much in the form of choice. All items are affordable and budget friendly, great packaging and easy to pick up last minute from your local store (depending on stock availability).

  • Christmas Gift Ideas In ASDA

    The older I get, the more I want my life to be simple. If I can batch together tasks, if I can shop in one place for a variety of different things, it means saving time and energy. Going into a supermarket to do your usual grocery shop AND purchasing Christmas presents is my idea of winning. And I think it is for many others too. Here are a few gift ideas I found in my local ASDA that you can grab while completing a food shop ready for Christmas 2025:

    One for the men, this duo includes 35ml of shaving gel and 35ml of after shave lotion. Both black pepper scented, nicely presented in a plain and simple way which many men would appreciated. £2.44.

    If someone is looking for a simple and affordable body set to help with relaxation, this could be helpful! Soothe Body Duo of a body scrub (30ml) and body oil (50ml) looks and sounds pampering.     White Woods & Tonka Bean Home Fragrance Set

    So there’s 5 gift ideas for the men, women and home, ready for Christmas. All fairly priced (besides the Sanctuary set the others are incredibly budget friendly!), nicely presented and should be well received.

  • How Good Is Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist?

    I am NOT that person that needs anymore body mists. I have PLENTY. BUT occasionally, like a beacon, a body mist will call out to me, I cave, and I buy! It could be the packaging, the price, but most of the time the fragrance description is what draws me in. And this is why I bought Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist from ASDA. But is this any good?

    I think there’s alot of body mists on the market that are ‘inspired’ by a certain well known brand and this body mist is one of them. This fragrance comes in a clear but tinted purple plastic spray topped bottle and finished off with a white lid. It’s not the most stylish looking body mist I’ve ever seen, or the best copy of THAT particular brand. But, it still caught my eye!

    Fragrance

    When I saw the words ‘Vanilla Orchid’ I had to stop and have a cheeky sniff, which I did. After smelling it I threw it straight into my basket. It has that sweet, creamy vanilla scent to it mixed in with light florals. This combination does give it a slightly exotic feel to it, it’s not heavy and it’s a stunner!

    Strength & longevity

    Strength starts off as a medium and lessens. But what I will say is it doesn’t totally disappear as I still get a hint of this at the end of the day, although it’s faint. So longevity not the best.

    Price & size

    This costs £2.48 for 100ml. Compared to similar products on the market it’s fair and still affordable. Size wise I wouldn’t want a body mist to be any smaller as there wouldn’t be much point. It will have a weaker formulation compared to an actual perfume, so this size means you can be generous with application.

    Recommended?

    YES! As a vanilla lover I love this! The mix between this and floral makes this smell pretty, feminine and for me it’s that type of scent I will smell it, inhale and smile. Which is what you want from a fragrance. You want to smell nice but you want to feel good wearing it and I feel good wearing this. Could it last longer and be stronger? Of course it could. But that’s what the extra spraying action is for! Despite this I would happily repurchase Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist.

  • Is A £1.00 Wax Melt From ASDA Worth Buying?

    If you love wax melts you probably have a healthy stash of them some where in your home. I know this because I do! So buying more wax melts isn’t something that I need, but I did stumble upon one recently I couldn’t resist and bought. This wax melt was from ASDA, a part of their home fragrance range Wellness in the fragrance of Awaken. Cost? Was £2.00 down to £1.00. So what is it like?

    Packaging

    The packaging was the first thing that got my attention. Rather than the wax being in plastic, this is housed in a cardboard box. The box itself is exactly the same colour as the wax melt, which you can see from the open window on the front. A lovely sage colour, box is slightly textured and looks very neutral and natural.

    The wax

    This wax melt is what I call a wax melt snap bar. It’s made up of 6 chunky squared cubes which you break off to use. Sage green in colour, plain, but the fact its exactly the same colour as the packaging for some reason makes something so simple look really good.

    Fragrance

    This is an interesting combination of herbal and sweet. I get the cooling mint from eucalyptus, which is very fresh and aromatherapy like. But this also has a sweet, creamy, comforting element from it which is vanilla. This doesn’t come through as strong as the eucalyptus but it’s there. This mix is really good, many people will like this as it comes across very soothing.

    Strength & longevity

    I was worried this would be a very light one. When this first started to melt through, the scent was barely there. But it grew, thankfully! The strength was medium which made the fragrance waft beautifully and noticeably down my stairs. Longevity wise? I melted this over a good number of hours. I did feel the scent was still there but longevity could have been a little better and longer. But it really wasn’t a massive thing as the scent is so good! Although I did only use one cube, maybe two may have been better. Overall, performance of this wax melt was ok.

    Recommended?

    This isn’t a typical scent, but in a good way. It’s one of those scents that most people will like. It has the freshness, but not the powdery notes, of a laundry style scent. But has an aromatherapy style to it which makes it interesting. I love this! The fragrance is gorgeous and perfect for relaxation, the packaging is is great along with the price. So if you are looking for a cheap but nicely scented wax melt, check out your local ASDA for this one!
