  • Affordable Simple Skincare Products In ASDA

I’m a massive fan of the skincare brand Simple for lots of reasons. Many of their products avoid ingredients which could be irritating on the skin e.g fragrance. There’s a variety of different products available which addresses different skin concerns. And what makes this brand even better is their low and affordable price point. Regularly on offer in various places, I found 3 Simple products that didn’t break the bank price wise in my local ASDA store. So what were they?

    Simple Skincare Products in ASDA
    Simple’s Micellar Water

Used to effectively remove dirt and make-up while not drying out skin by helping it stay hydrated. This massive 400ml bottle was only £3.50.

    Simple’s Micellar Water
    Simple’s Age Resisting Facial Wash

Containing green tea and prebiotics, this face wash is probably geared more towards older skin or those worried about the signs of ageing. Simple’s Age Resisting Facial Wash is supposed to maintain a healthy skin barrier and not strip or dry out the skin. ASDA’s current price is £3.00.

    Simple’s Age Resisting Facial Wash
    Simple’s Skin Quench Sleeping Cream

Highly moisturising but light in texture, Simple’s Skin Quench Sleeping Cream is packed with minerals and vitamins. Skin should look and feel softer and smoother after use. Usual price £7.00 down to £3.50.

Would I buy any of these?

Simple’s Micellar Water is such a good size and something that would be a good purchase for my eye make-up loving daughter. The facial wash I would buy for myself because it sounds suitable for my skin. But I’m not tempted by the Sleeping Cream. I think the texture would be too light for me as I prefer something thicker and heavier.

If you’re a fan of Simple, it’s worthwhile checking what’s available in your local ASDA. These prices are just as good as the products themselves.

  • New Fragrances Available In Asda

ASDA isn’t my usual go to when it comes to fragrances. But on a recent dash to grab boring items such as fruit, a few things caught my eye. These products were new to ASDA, and priced very affordably. So what did I spot?

    Fragrances available in ASDA
Bespoke London Men’s Eau de Parfums

I bought my son Bespoke London’s Wild Herbs & Tonka Bean EDP For Men from Superdrug a few years ago, so I know this is a good brand for fragrance. There was at least four different men’s fragrances I saw which I thought offered a good mix of scents. All 100ml and £9.99 each.

    Bespoke London’s Men’s Fragrances
    Bespoke London Women’s Perfume Mist

There was only one fragrance of Bespoke London’s Women’s Perfume Mist on the shelf, which was Mandarin Praline & White Flower. This was down from £6.00 to £4.00. I gave this a quick sniff and it smelt really nice. I loved the look and shape of the bottle and something I’m tempted to pick up for myself.

    Bespoke London’s Women’s Perfume Mist
    Impulse Mist-ic Body Fragrance Mists

Not a version of Impulse mists I’ve seen before, but these were very striking because of how they appeared. Various fragrances, all similar in look but differently coloured and almost differently ‘themed’ based on their scent. There were five fragrances I spotted, including:

    Impulse’s Serenity Body Fragrance Mist

Serenity (ginger, lime, amber & musk).

Balanced Mind (pear, jasmine & vanilla).

    Inner Peace (blackcurrant & sandalwood).

Self Love (rose, patchouli & cedarwood).

Impulse’s Self Love Body Fragrance Mist

These would be good purchases because of the size, the fragrances and overall they look appealing. These were priced at £1.50 for 150ml (usual rrp is around £4.00-5.00).

Did I buy any of these fragrances? No. Am I going back to purchase them? Probably! Great prices (although I suspect the Impulse sprays were on an introductory priced offer), great scents available and these are something different that’s been added to ASDA shelves.

  • Reduced Priced Candles & Reed Diffusers On Sale In Asda

Home fragrance products are very popular. It doesn’t matter what form they come in, people buy them. Wax melts, room sprays, oils, candles, reed diffusers, these can be bought anywhere with varied price points. Visiting my local supermarket ASDA I noticed a few home fragrance products reduced in price, including candles and reed diffusers. So what did I spot?

Special Priced Candles & Reed Diffusers On Sale In Asda
Various Sized Candles by Yankee Candles

I saw different sized and fragranced candles from the brand Yankee Candle in the candle section of ASDA. But the ones that caught my eye were the large versions, weighing 580g each. I spotted quite a few fragrances but took note of Pick & Mix and Citrus Spice. Each one priced at £5.50. These would be perfect scents for Spring/Summer.

    Yankee Candle Large Candles
Hygge by Aroma Works Reed Diffusers

Lime & Frankincense and Vetivert & Petitgrain scented reed diffusers from Hygge by AromaWorks where also reduced in price. These were just two of the few different versions I found fragrance wise, with these being priced at £3.00 each (last Friday these went down further to £1.50 each!).

    Hygge by AromaWorks Reed Diffusers
Sweet Pistachio Reed Diffusers by ASDA

For only £1.50, I was tempted to buy ASDA’s own branded Sweet Pistachio Reed Diffusers. I’ve used some of their reed diffusers before and thought they were very good. The price of these was very affordable.

So these are just a few home fragrance products I recently found in ASDA at special promotional prices. Much lower than what they would normally be which makes these really good buys if you wanted to purchase them. I found not all stores have the exact same deals on at the same times, so worthwhile checking what your store has available.

  • Autumn Scented Wax Melts From The High Street

Autumn is my favourite season in the year. The best tv shows land ready for me to be glued to my remote control. The weather is the perfect combination, normally, of sun, mildness with a a hint of crispness to it. And it’s totally acceptable to hermit and start living under a cosy blanket which is the second skin of a sofa. BLISS! Another thing I love about this season is the various home fragrances available to use that match with this time of year. So I decided to grab three wax melts from three high street retailers that screamed Autumn. And these are what I bought:

    Autumn inspired wax melts
Pacific Wax Co’s Pumpkin Spice – Asda

This wax melt cost £1.00 for 35.4g (the smallest out of the three purchased). Packaged in a protective plastic clam casing (which they all are housed in) with the wax segmented into 6 pieces. I love the label on this. It depicts the fragrance well and shouts Autumn to me.

The fragrance is spicy, warming and does have a pumpkin element to it. Not too strong or sweet and very balanced. Pumpkin scents aren’t my usual go to but this one is really nice with the spices coming through gently.

Pacific Wax Co’s Pumpkin Spice Wax Melts
    Wickford & Co’s Gingerbread – Home Bargains

This wax melt cost 79p for 88g (the cheapest out of the three purchased) which contains 8 cubes. The labelling, like Pacific Wax Co’s Pumpkin Spice, is cosy, easy on the eye and tells you what this is supposed to smell like from picture alone. When I think of THE Autumn/Winter scent it has to be Gingerbread!

This fragrance is a mix of ginger and some citrus notes to it. Warming but not spicy. This is mainly ginger for me but a bakery ginger not the spicy ginger. Great scent, just how I want a gingerbread piece of wax to smell like!

Wickford & Co’s Gingerbread Wax Melts
    Restore Sandalwood, Cedar & Cardamom – B & M

This wax melt cost £1.50 for 103.5g of wax which is the biggest in size, weight and cost of all three I bought. This is made up of 9 segments. I like the shape of this wax as it’s not square or rectangular, which gives it an interesting look. The labelling is beyond basic. No pictures, just the fragrance name. Strangely enough I’m fine with it because although this smells like an Autumn fragrance, it may be sold all year round so it can’t stand out seasonally.

Fragrance wise this comes across as quite a clean scent as it has powdery notes to it. A little woodiness comes through with the smallest hit of spice but barely there. I really like this one. Very unusual, I like the cleanness of this but could be spicier.

Restore Sandalwood, Cedar & Cardamom Wax Melts
    Overall

Three differently sized, priced and fragranced wax melts which all tick the Autumn box! It’s nice to have three wax melts that smell differently but all give off a cosy feel in different ways. I can only assume all three are widely available from these stores and which ever one you chose won’t break the bank, and should provide a good number of hours of fragrance.
