  • Reduced Home Fragrance Products In ASDA!

Coming to the end of one season and having another one just around the corner, means change. Stores have already started to add new product lines to their shelves and reduced the price of others. Great for customers who want a bargain and pay less for a product. So the month of August is an ideal time to keep your eyes peeled for special promotions and prices that will save you money. A recent trip to my local ASDA showed quite a few home fragrance products were on the shelves that were reduced. So what did I find?

    Yankee Candle Scent Plug Refills

Probably one of the most expensive plug refill products on the market is from Yankee Candle. So being able to get their plug in refills for a lower price than usual is great to see. I found Pink Sands and Midsummer’s Night set of 2 plug in refills both down from £7.00 to £4.98.

    City Break Small Candles

Very cute looking glass jar candle that would make a great gift idea for a keen traveller or look nice in a room in the house. Down from £4.00 to £1.98.

    Luxury Reed Diffusers

These reed diffusers were available in three fragrances: Smoked Amber, Wild Pear, and Parisian Violet. Smoked Amber is a scent mix of dark chocolate, vanilla, amber and pink pepper. This sounds and looks great for autumn and winter use. Wild Pear is a scent mixed with apples, pears, plum and elderflower. Parisian Violet is a combination of ylang ylang, roses and vanilla. All three fragrances sounded delicious, all packaged in a very stylish way and comes with a small plate to pop the diffuser on. Down from £10.00 to £4.97.

    Luxury Large Candles

Each candle comes in the same fragrance as the luxury reed diffusers. Great sizes, quite heavy glass and simple but stylish in design. Down from £10.00 to £4.97.

These were just a few of the home fragrance products I found in ASDA reduced, because there were more! What I liked about these items was the fragrances would be great to use in the more cooler seasons coming up, not just for summer. And all at affordable prices.

  • What My Kids Bought Me For Mother’s Day

Whether Mother’s Day is an occasion you celebrate or not, it’s one day in a year that many people buy gifts for their mum’s, grandmother’s and other female relatives in the family. Is it easy to buy for these special women in our lives? Sometimes it is. But the shops online and in stores are ready to throw everything and anything at the public to purchase anything mildly floral, pink in colour or have the word ‘MUM’ emblazed on it. My kids were sweet enough to buy me gifts this year. So what did my teens buy me, not including the obligatory chocolate and sweets?

The Wizard Bath Bomb from Lush

My daughter knows I love baths and we both love the film Wicked. She went into LUSH, found something shiny and Wicked connected and bought it (her words not mine). This is quite a weighty rounded bath bomb, which is striking thanks to it’s eye catching gold colour. The bath bomb has an image of the Wizard, from the film, almost carved into it. Slightly sinister in look but incredibly fun and different. Fragrance is quite earthy, a bit plant like and unusual but very nice.

    ASDA’s Flower Market Reed Diffuser

My son sneakily took a solo trip to our local ASDA and picked this up along with the candle counterpart. The box this comes in along with the diffuser bottle both have flower images on them, which makes it look incredibly pretty. Perfect for Mother’s Day gifting. Designed to last up to 8 weeks, I can’t wait to use this in my bedroom.

    ASDA’s Flower Market Scented Candle

This is in the same fragrance as the reed diffuser and comes in a large, glass jar with a wooden lid. Same labelling. The jar is clear but pink in colour and this is a whooping size (size/weight not on label but it’s massive). Unlike the reed diffuser I can get the smell of this by simply taking the lid of and its beautiful! It’s a sweet, feminine floral mixed in with a creamy citrus and it’s sooo good! Not an old fashioned or boring floral but a modern yet classic floral all at the same time.

I think my kids did very well with these gifts! Whatever they bought me I would have appreciated. But I can tell they both put some thought into what they bought and asked the important question of ‘will my mum like this?’, especially where the home fragrance products are concerned. AND they didn’t spend a small fortune too! Well done kids!

  • Teacher Gifts of Home Fragrance Products For Under £5.00

It’s getting closer to that time of year where many people want to thank the teachers who have been educating and looking after their children for the last school year. I’ve spent many years buying gifts for multiple teachers for both of my children, so I know how it can be difficult to get affordable, nice and not the norm gifts for them. I can imagine it’s hard for others too if they don’t want to buy the usual mug, diaries or biscuits. So I’ve kept my eyes peeled for affordable home fragrance products that would make nice gifts for teachers in both ASDA and Home Bargains.

Why choose home fragrance as a gift?

Most people use some form of home fragrance products in their homes. They’re practical, can be used for decoration and fragrance. Overall home fragrance products is a little more thoughtful than other potential gifts.

    ASDA – Tinned Candles

My local ASDA has a good selection of home fragrance products. I spotted these new tinned candles because they looked great, good variety of fragrances and were only £2.00 each! They looked more expensive than what they were and even on it’s own would make a nice gesture.

    Home Bargains – Reed Diffusers

I spotted two different brands of reed diffusers, two different price points with different scents available. The first one I spotted was James & Co Fragrance Reed Diffusers. 100ml in size and scents included French Lavender and Vanilla, each costing only £1.79. The other brand I saw was from Wax Lyrical. 100ml in size and only in one fragrance which was Coastal Breeze. This was a little more pricey at £2.99, but still not particularly expensive.

I also spotted two jar candles which looked very appealing. One in the brand of Yankee Candle in different scents. I picked up Cupcake Party. This was a good sized candle (not massive but not small either) and cost only £3.99. The other was Wickford & Co, and these seemed to be cocktail scented. The jars were striking, fun fragrances and only £2.99.

There were so many more fragrance products available in both of these stores. But the ones I mentioned grabbed my attention because of price, how they looked, fragrances available and having a sneaky sniff of them made me interested! Pop one of these in a gift bag alone or with something else, and this would be nice gift to receive at the end of the school year.
