  • The Bath Bae’s Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes

If you love baths you will love bath bombs. Different fragrances, colours and designs are available which means your bath time treat can be varied from one bath to the next. Not all bath bombs come in the typical ball shape. The Bath Bae, who I found on Instagram, sell lots of different bath treats e.g bath dusts, rocks and cubes. Definitely NOT typical bath bombs! Which made me want to try out their products, including their Oh So Slushie Bath Cube. So what were they like?

The Bath Bae’s Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes
Why did I buy Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes?

I found the look and idea of bath cubes appealing. The scent from the description online sounded like something I would like and I thought I would enjoy using these cubes.

    What are bath cubes?

Just think of a bath bomb and what they are made of and designed to do, and instead of it being round its cubed! And lots of them! All small, cubed bath bombs that are thrown into the bath to enjoy.

    Packaging

200g of bath cubes come in a clear, pouch, so you can see the cubes in all their glory. Resealable, so they don’t need to be used all at once.

    How do these look?

Oh So Slushie Bath Cubes are similar in size to a dice. Beautiful mix of colours are in each of them, pink, blue, little bits of purple and white. They have a great hand made look to them as they aren’t identical in appearance but look inviting and fun!

    Fragrance

These smell AMAZING! They smell like an actual slushie drink. Sweet, strawberries, raspberry scented, cherries with a slight fizzy hit to it. This is how they smell.

    In the bath

Its recommended to use either half or the full packet of these bath cubes. I used a third. Used like a normal bath bomb, I threw a handful of cubes under warm running water. Each cube slowly became an individual mini bath bomb which fizzed about and released bright streams of colours. A little foam was made, and then the bath went from a party of mini bath bombs, to then turning into a purple coloured bath soak. The water felt very soothing, my mind felt very relaxed with no irritation just supple and hydrated skin.

    Good value?

The bath cubes cost £6.45, but when I bought these they had a 25% offer attached to them. A good quality bath bomb can easily cost up to £6.45 and the amount of product you get from this sachet is a maximum of 2 bath bombs so decent value.

    Recommended?

I loved these bath cubes! Scent was to die for, gorgeous bath was created and the bath cubes weren’t drying on my skin. These created a a relaxing and enjoyable bath which any bath lover would love!

Are these still available? Unfortunately not. Like many small businesses over the last few years The Bath Bae is no longer with us, but they really did hand make and sell some really great quality products.

  • Miss Patisserie’s Salted Caramel Bath Slab

Miss Patisserie’s Salted Caramel Bath Slab

It took me a while to get into using bath bombs. But once I started there was no stopping me! What I soon discovered was bath bombs came in a variety of different shapes, sizes and designs. One being a bath slab. My first experience of using one of these was when I received one as a Christmas present. The bath slab I was given was Salted Caramel from a brand called Miss Patisserie.

    Packaging

The bath slab is loving wrapped in a beautifully multi coloured box with a cut out window on the front giving you a glimpse of what’s inside. Very clean in look but quite pretty and eye catching too.

    How does this look?

This is rectangular in shape, chunky and segmented. Being segmented means you can break off what you want to use. Salted Caramel Bath Slab is multi coloured, containing pinks, blues, purples and little dashes of green. Overall the look isn’t uniformed. Colour wise it’s beautifully laid out erratically like a solid piece of a galaxy. What finishes this bath slab off is a trail of gold dripping over it like icing on a cake. And that’s not all, there’s also lots of shimmer!

Miss Patisserie Salted Caramel Bath Slab
    Fragrance

There’s definitely a slight sweet, buttery, caramel fragrance to this with an almost berry undertone to it with a dash of salt. Although I love my sweet fragrances I’m glad this wasn’t strong. It was subtle, which made it easy to use and enjoy. This type of fragrance can be very sweet, synthetic in smell and sickly which thankfully this wasn’t.

    In the bath

I popped in 4 squares and what was great to see was how they provided a mini show. They fizzed and danced about, they slightly frothed and they threw out many streams of different colours. Eventually the water turned into a relaxing and slightly regal purple colour. Fragrance wise my bathroom smelt yummy. Not overpowering, but there and enjoyable.

    Bath time!
    On the skin

I noticed when I was in the water my skin felt silky soft. Once out, my skin felt as if it was nourished, the same way that you would feel if you put on a light body lotion. No stripping or drying of the skin, but a massive boost of hydration which I loved!

    Added bonus?

I realised after I got out of the bath my skin had a slight shimmer to it!

    Recommended?

This gave me what I wanted from a bath product. I had a great looking bath, fragrant and this bath slab meant my skin feel lovely. Value wise this slab will easily give one lucky person at least 4 to 6 baths. This costs £6 so great value! You can buy this product direct from Miss Patisserie, or head over to the ASOS website where they sell this range too.

  • Emily Makes Boutique’s Honolulu Mini Bubble Truffle

Emily Makes Boutique’s Honolulu Mini Bubble Truffle

Instagram is a great place to discover new products and businesses. I recently found Emily Makes Boutique who is a maker and seller of bath, body and wax products. Me being me I took advantage of them having a sale featuring one of my favourite bath products, Bubble Truffles! Perfect opportunity to try out something from a new, small business. A Bubble Truffle called Honolulu has recently been used in my bath. This product was £2.75 but I got it (and others) for half price.

    What is a Bubble Truffle?

Think of a something you pop in the bath which provides foam, fragrance, moisture and sometimes colour, and looks like a scoop of ice cream. That’s a bubble truffle!

    How does this look?

Small but perfectly formed measuring just over 1.5 inches in diameter. A beautiful pastel blue coloured rounded scoop with dark blue specks of colour running through it. Dusted delicately with gold mica pigment, a few small pearlized balls peeping through the top, and a tiny seashell shaped flat decoration piece finishes it off. The truffle although domed has a flat bottom.

Emily Makes Boutique’s Honolulu Mini Bath Truffle
    Fragrance

This smells tropical, fruity…think sweet, coconut, pineapple type fragrances but this isn’t sickly and delicately done but obvious. A touch of floral seems to be hidden in there somewhere. This is a gorgeous refreshing and soothing scent which is perfect for this time of the year.

    How to use

    Crumble under warm running water….simple!

    In the bath

Rather than dropping this whole under warm running water I crumbled it. This crumbled so easily. Not dry, as I could already feel this was packed with some moisturising ingredients. As it floated in the bath and got caught up in the water, it turned it from clear to the same beautiful soft blue colour the truffle is, almost tropical sea like. As the water continued to pour from the tap, soft, white foam formed. And by the time the water was turned off, the tub was heaving with bubbles.

    On the skin

In the bath I felt cocooned. Think of a body oil being on the skin outside of the bath, this is what it felt like IN the bath! I touched my skin and it felt as if a protective layer was on it. Not greasy but hydrating, smooth and silky. So out of the bath my skin felt great. No dryness, smallest hint of fragrance and ready ( but not needed ) for body lotion.

    Recommended?

I know what I like when it comes to bath products and this ticked all boxes. Appearance wise so sweet and pretty. Performance wise this blew me away and gave me a relaxing and enjoyable bathing experience. Do not let the size of this fool you! The amount of foam this produced was impressive! So a repeat purchase of Emily Makes Boutique for bubble truffles is a definite for me and I really want to try other bath products to, so a massive thumbs up!

  • Lolly & Moo Sparkles Bubbler Bar

Lolly & Moo Sparkles Bubbler Bar

There are some imaginative and fun bath products available for sale. Bath Bombs, melters/creamers, dusts, crumbles, the list goes on and on. I have a few favourites, including Bubble Bars. My current bath time treat is from a small business called Lolly & Moo. They have their own version of Bubble Bars called a Bubbler, and I’ve been using their Sparkles Bubbler Bar in my night time bathing routine.

Lolly & Moo’s Sparkles Bubbler Bar
    Why did I buy this?

I chose this one because it was a favourite scent with other Lolly & Moo customers. I wanted to see what the fuss was about and thought a Bubbler Bar in this scent would be a great introduction to it.

    What’s a Bubbler Bar?

A Bubbler when crumbled in the bath provides foam, colour and fragrance.

    How does this look?

Think of a long, slightly flattened Swiss roll that’s been cut into slices. This reminds me very much of that in regards to its shape. Baby blue in colour, with a slighter darker shade of blue running through its centre. And on the outside it’s been lightly dusted with silver glitter to give it an added ‘Sparkle ‘.

    Fragrance

This is a pretty, floral scented bath product. Its a fresh and clean scent that isn’t overpowering and strong. the floral element to it makes it quite youthful and uplifting yet soothing at the same time.

    In the bath

I don’t like to scrimp when using bath products, but I put a quarter of this under warm running water wondering if this would be enough. 5 minutes later I came to a bath full of frothy, white bubbles sitting on top of clear water. I was surprised how much foam there was, and how long they lasted which was a good amount of time.

The fragrance was there too. Not strong and punchy but noticeable.

I’m very impressed with the bath this Bubbler created! From one Bubbler this easily could provide 4 baths.

    On the skin

One of the many reasons I love this is because it was so kind and gentle to my skin. Non-drying and very moisturising, which is a must for me. So not only was this enjoyable to have in the bath but my skin liked it too.

    Recommended?

100%! This scent is a revelation to me and I want it in EVERYTHING! The Bubbler itself surpassed my expectations. I knew it would foam, I knew it would provide fragrance and be hydrating on the body. But I didn’t realise I needed to use so little of it to get such a great bathing experience. This Bubbler provides excellent value for money as you can get at least 4 baths out of each one. Definitely an affordable luxury and one I MUST repurchase asap!
