  • Products, Purchases & More In The Month Of July

July has been an incredibly busy month. The weather has been up and down hot, cold and raining. Everything and anything has needed to be paid for (one word…car!). And dare I mention the end of the school year and start of the Summer holidays? Will August be an easier, less stressful and cheaper time? No! But since August has come rushing around the corner, I thought I would look back on July and highlight products I’ve spotted, bought and/or used that’s worth giving a thumbs up.

    Travel Sized Holiday Essentials

This is probably the main time of the year when people are going away on a holiday, especially with children. Travel sized hair and body products are a staple for travellers. Readily available on the high street and online, but prices, promotions and products vary from store to store. So always look for the best value and the brands of products you want to grab.

Garnier’s Ambre Solaire Kids Sensitive Protection Lotion

Sun protection is a must, especially during Summer. I’ve found Garnier’s Ambre Solaire Kids Sensitive Protection Lotion to be a great sun protection for all the family, not just kids! From face to to feet, this has served all of our melanin rich skin well in my household. Rubbed into the skin, it leaves no white, ashy or purple marks if applied properly.

Home of Honey’s Golden Orchid Wax Melt Discs

Some beautifully scented and crafted wax melts were gifted to me from UK based wax vendor Home of Honey, including Golden Orchid Wax Melts Disc. Eye catching in appearance, good sizes and lovely fragrance.

    Home Bargains Bargains!

I never have a problem finding a great buy from Home Bargains when it comes to bath, body or skincare products. But one of the best I’ve seen in a long time is the Decleor mini’s. Only 79p, you get either a singular product or a duo which consists of a shower gel, facial cleanser, facial moisturiser and/or oil. Absolute bargain considering how expensive this brand used to be (I think they’ve ceased trading in the UK). Yes, these aren’t full sizes. But how ideal are these for travelling?

    Lidl’s Cien Moisturising Hand Cream

If you’re looking for an affordable and effective everyday hand cream, Lidl’s Cien Moisturising Hand Cream is brilliant! Light weight, moisturising and kind to sensitive hands. For under £1.00, this is a great everyday product to use and buy when needed.

Home of Honey’s Rose Wonderland Wax Melt

Another wax melt used and enjoyed from Home of Honey was Rose Wonderland (gifted). An interesting take on a floral scent which was unusual, not floral heavy and perfect to melt during the Summer months.

These are some of the skincare, body care and home fragrance products I found in stores, bought or/and used in the month of July. Any favourites? Now THAT would be telling…so no!

  • Is Lidl’s Cien Moisturising Hand Cream Good For Hands?

Once you get into trying out body and skincare products that are supermarket branded, you don’t stop! They’re affordable, easy to pick up during shopping trips and many products are really good in quality. Not to mention supermarkets now have their own dupes of well known brands. One supermarket body care buy I bought within the last few months was Lidl’s Cien Moisturising Hand Cream. It cost 59p for 75ml. But was it 59p well spent?

    Lidl’s Cien Moisturising Hand Cream
    Why did I buy this?

I’ve bought and used the Aldi’s version which is a great hand cream, so I wanted to try this one as well. As a household, we’ve used Aveeno products and other products containing oatmeal and it works well for us. So why not give this hand cream a try for 59p? My daughter uses hand cream daily and this seemed the perfect cost effective purchase for her.

    What does this do?

Lid’s Cien Moisturising Hand Cream is suitable for dry and sensitive hands. Containing colloidal oatmeal, it’s naturally soothing, moisturising and calming to skin.

    Packaging

Very similar to Aveeno in appearance, this hand cream comes in a small, plastic flip top tube. Neutral in colour with green detailing. If this doesn’t make you think of Aveeno, nothing else will!

    Fragrance

Although it doesn’t state on the packaging it’s fragrance free I think it is. There’s no scent to this and has that ‘I’m not fragranced type of smell’ to it.

    Consistency & Texture

White in colour, smooth and has a little hold to it.

    On the hands

Although this hand cream has hold, it really is quite light weight and went straight into my skin with a light rub. The texture was so light it felt like it was part cream part gel. It felt very soothing and protective, and after a few seconds my hands went from feeling like a cream was on it to being matt.

    Recommended?

This is a good quality, moisturising but light weight hand cream which most people will find useful. Hands that are severely dry, I don’t think this is rich enough. But for everyone else this will be great, especially for 59p!

    Decleor Minis

The French skincare brand Decleor is expensive. I know this because I used to buy it years ago! Facial oils used to retail up to £60 for the full size. So seeing mini’s of this brand for only 79p is great and a bargain. Great buy if you love the products, need mini’s for travel or just want to try it out, this is a great way of doing it. Not all the products are the same. Some contain bath and shower products, some facial, so worthwhile going through the sachets to check what they contain.

Charli D’Amelio’s Born Dreamer Happy Place Eau de Toilette Refill 75ml

If you picked up the standard eau de toilette bottle when it was in stock, grabbing a refill for it is available. Costing only £4.99 for 75ml, if you want to stock up on the fragrance this is an affordable way of doing it.

    Zenner Massage Glove

If you like to use a body glove to exfoliate your body, have a look out for Zenner’s Massage Glove, made from recyclable materials. Having a feel of this it differently will exfoliate the body effectively, great for tanning and preparing the body for Summer (of sorts!). Only 99p.

    Rosemary Infused Haircare Range

Rosemary is a popular ingredient in haircare products. Apparently it helps promote healthier, stronger hair and helps with hair loss. A whole routine is available in the Rosemary Infused products. This includes shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and hair oil. All beautifully packaged, good ingredients included and each product only £1.99.

    Rosemary Infused Haircare range

So these are the products that caught my eye recently from Home Bargains. Haircare products, skincare, bath and body and even fragrance. All under £5.00 which is great value.

  • New In Home Bargains!

A store that never fails to bring in new, affordable products for skin, hair and body is Home Bargains. Their personal care products is always my favourite things to look for and to buy. With a variety of different brands available being sold lower than the rrp, no wonder certain products are popular. But what have I recently spotted for sale in my local store?

Dr Paw Paw’s Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Duo

This is such a handy set considering the time of the year we are in. It’s getting warmer which means lips can get drier and need more moisture added. Dr Paw Paw’s Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Duo means you can get rid of any dry, flaky skin and then immediately moisturise them. Price £3.99.

Dr Paw Paw’s Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Duo
    Dove’s Nourishing Lip Balm

Dove is one of those everyday, well known brands that many people will have used and bought at some point. It’s well liked, trusted, readily available and the price point is ok. Dove’s Nourishing Lip Balm contains jojoba oil and shea butter extras which should soothe, smooth and moisturise lips. Price £1.49.

    Dove’s Nourishing Lip Balm
    Faith in Nature’s Body Washes

I only spotted the Aloe Vera version of Faith in Nature. It’s a brand that people head towards if they want their body care products to be more natural in regards to ingredients. Not only is the focus on what’s put into their products, but what’s left out of them e.g parabens and SLS. Price £1.99 for 400ml.

Faith in Nature’s Aloe Vera Body Wash
    Timotei’s Shampoos & Conditioners

Not a haircare brand I’ve ever used but feels like a blast from the past, is Timotei. I couldn’t help noticing these in the shampoo and conditioner section because the bottles looked very appealing. There were different versions available for different hair types. I noticed two in the form of Hydrating and Strengthening. Price £1.99 each for 300ml.

    Timotei’s Shampoos & Conditioners

So these are just a few of the latest products in Home Bargains for hair, body and face. All branded, all affordable but availability can be store dependant so worthwhile checking your store to see if they are in.
