    Christmas is getting closer. I always find the lead up to that one day is the most tiring, stressful and expensive part. But with a little preparation, thought, and going to normal everyday places to tick off things off your to buy list, makes life easier. If you’re looking for gift ideas on a budget, for the face and body, here are some items I’ve spotted in the supermarket Tesco:

    3 body butters, each 50ml in size, in the fragrances of Botanical Serenity, Tranquil Bloom and Calm Comfort. Botanical Serenity’s fragrance is a mix of lavender, eucalyptus, patchouli and sage. Tranquil Bloom’s fragrance is lavender, eucalyptus, vetiver and jasmine. Calm Comfort is lavender, sweet orange, ho wood and cedar. £7.00 but down to £3.30 (when using a Tesco Clubcard).

    Out of all of the gifts I’ve seen in Tesco I want this one! This is a collection of 3 different fragranced eau de parfum’s from the brand Skin Saints. Included is Rouge (amber & warm woods), Miss Paris (soft iris & patchouli) and Cerise (cherry & almond blossom). Each 50ml in size, which will provide lots of fragrance. Beautifully packaged with a nice mix of different types of fragrance. Usual price is £14.00 but down to £6.60 (when using a Tesco Clubcard).

    So if you’re still looking for budget friendly gift ideas and stocking fillers, and you shop in Tesco, it really is worth having a look in their gift section. Would you buy any of these? More importantly, would you buy any of these items and keep them for yourself?

  • More Fragrance Dupes In Home Bargains?

    Dupes of products don’t seem to be disappearing from the high street. In fact, the brands and products that are being duped seems to be growing everyday. Some people love them, some people hate them. My personal opinion is if they’re done well, decent quality, affordable price point and not an exact duplicate to the original, I have no issues with them. In fact, I’m all for it. But I was a little surprised to see some fragrances available in Home Bargains that are clearly a dupe (at least look wise) for fragrance brand Kayali. So what did I find?

    What’s available?

    4 eau de parfum fragrances available from a brand called Body Bakerie. Fragrances available are in Coco Hazelnut, Pistachio Musk, Toasted Marshmallow and Vanilla Sugar Swirl. Each 100ml in size and inspired by bakery based scents.

    Similar to the Kayali fragrances. These bottles have squared corners, chunky in shape but flat. Bottles are coloured in neutral shades, and frosted. White print for the wording makes these pop and noticeable on the shelf.

    Coco Hazelnut – Top notes, coconut cream, bergamot. Middle notes, toasted hazelnut, milk accord. Base notes, sandalwood, tonka bean.

    Smell test?

    I didn’t get a chance to smell all of these. And I simply took the lid off two of them rather than spraying them. Pistachio Musk was a fail for me, it just didn’t smell nice. Toasted Marshmallow was very sweet and what I expected, which was ok. Neither blew me away.

    Would I buy these?

    I was tempted when I first saw them but probably won’t buy these. I like how they’re packaged, although I think the lid looks very cheap and spoils the overall look. This is a nice selection of sweet fragrances, which I should like, but one I didn’t (out of the two I tried) which makes me feel a little nervous on how they all smell. And although the price point isn’t expensive, it’s not low enough for me to give it a try. So my suggestion is if possible, have a sniff before purchasing (a sniff not spray, these aren’t testers!). These won’t appeal to everyone but bare in mind you may get what you pay for and I’m very doubtful this is similar quality to the brand they’re inspired by.

    Every shop, store and supermarket at this time of year is focused on Christmas. The biggest time of the year where shops make their biggest sales and we part with lots of cash. Most of us will be on the hunt for gifts for our nearest and dearest, with many not wanting to break the bank. If you’re looking for pampering bath, shower and body care gift ideas, here are a few things I’ve spotted in B&M:

    This small but mighty collection contains 3 shower gels, each 200ml. These come in three different fragrances which are Cherry Jam, Candy Floss and Apple Pie. The labelling does remind me of LUSH, and I find how they are packaged quite appealing. But it’s the fragrances that caught my eye as they’re fun and not typical. £4.00.

    This is quite a weighty and well thought out collection which a Nivea fan would appreciate. Containing a facial wash, day cream, night cream and body lotion, this is literally a top to toe daily skincare routine ready to go. All full sizes and designed for normal skin. £9.99.

    Miss So…? Mediterranean Body Mist Collection

    Containing 4 x 50ml body mists, this collection is more summer scented rather than winter. Fragrances included are Coral Sunset, Amore Rose, Enchanted and Azure Dreams. All fruity and floral based, which sounds energising and tropical. Each one is the perfect travel size to throw into a pocket or bag, and nicely packaged ready to give as a gift. £3.99.

    I’ve been trying to find all of the LUSH dupes in different B&M’s with very little success. I managed to find just one, which is their Sweet Dreams Body Butter. A moisturising, comforting, and pampering body product (hopefully!) scented with vanilla and other herbal and citrus notes. This might be a good item to have as a small stocking filler or pop into a hamper or Christmas box rather than a gift on it’s own. £3.49 for 250g.

  • October’s Round Up Of Products I Found & Used

    October was a fun month for finding different products on the high street. New season meant lots of autumn inspired items and also winter ones too. From home fragrance, to skincare…I saw lots of products for the face, body and home which were all budget friendly and relatively easy to grab from well known stores on the high street (or online). So what did I find in October?

    A brand that is super affordable is Face Facts. Their products can be found in different stores but their biggest selection of products, including skincare, can be found in B&M. I found skincare face masks in different forms in B&M all under £4.00. Great for a pamper without the expensive.

    Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Sour Apple Body Mist

    A body mist I’m still enjoying and using, is Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Fruity Sour Apple Body Mist. So fruity, so effervescent and so different! This isn’t the type of scent you will smell regularly that’s why I love it, and it’s not expensive either.

    Not only does the brand Face Facts have a massive range of skincare products, but they also have lots of body products too. This includes shower body foams, body butters and body lotions. The collection they have in raspberry ripple fragrance looks very appealing and all under £3.00 each!

    Superdrug’s Limited Edition Halloween Pumpkin Spice Body Mist

    Another limited edition body mist from Superdrug is their Pumpkin Spice Body Mist. This is more of a traditional autumn scent which if you love anything pumpkin you will love this! Spicy, warming with a little musk to it.

    Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist

    Anyone who loves vanilla really needs to try Tiger Moon’s Vanilla Orchid Body Mist. Vanilla is one of my favourite scents, and this is a great mix of vanilla and florals which makes my nose very happy. Smells so much more expensive than what it cost, but if this was stronger and lasted longer would be PERFECT!

    There are so many winter inspired fragranced bath and shower products available in Home Bargains, you will be spoilt for choice! From hand washes to shower gels, bath soaks to shower foams, all scented to get us all in the mood for winter.

    I was late catching onto Arabian inspired fragrances, but my son wasn’t! One that he bought for himself was Lattafa’s Amethyst Bade’e Al Oud. A beautifully packaged 100ml fragrance that both men and women can wear. Importantly, this smells amazing, is long lasting and strong.
