  • March Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

If this year continues to fly by as it has been, it will be Christmas in no time! Another month has disappeared and a new one has begun. March for me was full of new products to try with some being brilliant purchases if you want a pamper but on a budget. So what did I use?

March 2023 Round Up Of Products Used
    Beauty Pro’s 49p Sheet Masks

It’s hard to get a skincare sheet mask wrong, but when it’s right it’s right! For 49p Beauty Pro’s Turmeric Infused Sheet Mask was enjoyable to use, incredibly moisture giving and made my skin feel and look great.

Champneys Health Spa Calming Incense Gift

A form of home fragrance people have used in the past but possibly forgotten about, is the incense sticks. Champneys Health Spa Calming Incense Gift fragranced rooms well but not too strong and overpowering. Easy to use and an interesting alternative to wax based home fragrance products.

Glow’s Amber & Lavender Body Butter

A product that had been gifted to me from UK based wax, body and bath product vendor Glow. This was my first introduction to their new body care range. Amber & Lavender Body Butter may possibly be my favourite fragrance in body butter form I’ve ever used. The melting on the skin texture of this and it’s moisturising action made this a winner and a product I love!

    Face Facts Ceramide Gentle Cleanser

Face Facts Ceramide Gentle Cleanser is an affordable, ceramide based, fragrance free cleanser which is ideal for sensitive and dry skin. Easy and quick to use and something I’m still using in my daily skincare routine today and will probably repurchase when it finishes.

Face Facts Ceramide Hydrating Gentle Cleanser
Bath & Body Works Body Cream In Winterberry Wonder

Although I’ve heard about the brand Bath & Body Works, Winterberry Wonder was the first product from their brand I’ve used. Nicely presented, stunning fragrance but not as rich in texture and as moisturising in action as I hoped it would be. Decent bargain when I bought it in the sale, but not something I would purchase at full price.

Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar From LUSH

Relaxation is a must for me considering how busy my life is. Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar From LUSH is the perfect night time bath product to use to help with general pampering and to aide relaxation. Smells great, foams up beautifully and adds a little colour to the water. Bliss!

    LUSH’s Sleep Bubble Bath Bar
Glow’s March Bath & Body Subscription Box

There was so much product in Glow’s March Bath & Body Subscription Box that I’m struggling to use every piece of it! A generous and indulgent set that included products for the bath and body which could be used everyday or for special occasions. Unbelievable value and I can’t wait to use everything in this!

Aldi’s Lacura Lynx Dupe Shower Gels

You have to love Aldi! The amount of dupes that they in their Lacura range has been impressive but very cheeky! Their Lacura Lynx Dupe Shower Gels have been a regular purchase in my house since I discovered them. They now help to keep my teenage son clean, smell nice and save me some money compared to their Lynx counterparts.

    Alsi’s Lacura Men Shower Gels

So that’s my March 2023 round up! Lots of products, lots of fun using them and many have been very affordable which my pocket loves.

  • Bath Time Pampering With Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar From LUSH

LUSH is well known for their bath, shower and body products. For some people these products are regular purchases, for others it’s an irregular one off treat. When they had their Boxing Day Sale last year, it was the perfect time for me to grab some half price goodies. I don’t buy from LUSH regularly. So this gave me the chance to buy things I wouldn’t normally at a great price. Not only did I grab bath bombs, I also purchased some bubble bath bars too, including Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar. I bought 3 (don’t judge!), with each one costing £2.00.

    LUSH Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar
    Why did I buy this?

I bought Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb previously and loved it! I enjoyed it so much I wanted the bubble bath bar equivalent. Bubble bath bar’s are one of my favourite bath products so I needed to add this to my collection.

    What’s a Bubble Bath Bar?

A Bubble Bath Bar gives you a similar bath as you would expect using a bubble/foam bath gel or cream. The only difference is this comes in a solid form rather than liquid. Break it up under warm running water and let the bubbles form and enjoy!

    How does this look?

Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar comes in a simple and basic cloud shape. It’s solid, flat (although slightly raised in parts giving it a handmade appearance) and quite chunky in it’s depth. This is coloured with various shades of pink, green, purple and orange. Very appealing and very sweet in look.

    Fragrance

Sweet, herbal lavender with a hint of vanilla. Absolutely gorgeous!

    In the bath

I snapped this in half and crumbled it under warm running water. It was easy to do and Sleepy Bubble Bath Bar now turned from a solid into a powder. The fragrance was released straight away and bubbles immediately were created. Not only was there lots of bubbles formed but the water in the bath turned into a light shade of pink/purple.

Being in this bath was relaxing. The bubbles were plentiful and lasted right till the end. I also felt the water was softening on my skin. I’m not too sure whether using the full bar would have made a difference fragrance wise, but I would loved it to have been stronger.

    Recommended?

I enjoyed using this product. It created lots of bubbles, coloured the water and was nicely scented. If the fragrance was turned up a notch this would have been the perfect bubble bar. But I still recommend this because it’s a good product and enjoyable to use. It’s also a regular bubble bath bar for sale, not just seasonal (although no longer discounted). Only available in it’s larger size at the moment of 200g for £7.00 here if you want to experience a member of the Sleepy family.

  • What’s In My LUSH Stash? Using Snow Dragon Bath Bomb

Why do so many of us love a bath? We don’t have them just to clean our bodies but we use them as a form of relaxation. You can lie there and scroll through your phone, drink a glass of wine or even read a book. Whatever you choose to do, what do you put into the bath to add to this experience? I love to use lots of different things including bath bombs. I recently decided to use LUSH’s Snow Dragon Bath Bomb I bought in their Boxing Day Sale. This originally was £3.50 and then went down to £1.75.

    LUSH’s Snow Dragon Bath Bomb
    Why did I use this?

One thing LUSH do perfectly is create bath bombs that visually are very appealing, including this one. It just took my fancy one evening so in the bath it went!

    How does it look?

Imagine a dragon laying flat on it’s belly with it’s tail curved round it’s body, almost in a sleeping position. This is how this bath bomb is shaped. The details are there, it’s easy to see what it is and the fact it’s blue in colour makes it very striking. The addition of crystal like pieces on the top of this bath bomb makes it look even more special.

    Fragrance

Snow Dragon Bath Bomb has a slight citrusy scent to it. It’s slightly sweet but fresh and zingy. This is one of those fragrances most people would like and enjoy because it’s not too specific and unusual in scent.

    In the bath

I put this in an already filled bath and it sank straight to the bottom straight away. It started to fizz a little and release colour and it came up to the surface of the water. I was hoping there would be some form of bath art going on, some movement, hidden colour. No, none of that. Snow Dragon Bath Bomb turned the clear water into a pale blue shade, fizzed a little, no foam and disappeared. It was pleasant enough to look at but it didn’t bowl me over.

The fragrance was there while I was in the bath and lasted quite a while after. There was still that citrusy element to it but it smelt more chalky once in the water.

In the bath my experience was fine and reasonably relaxing. I didn’t feel it was a particularly great bath with Snow Dragon Bath Bomb in it but it wasn’t bad. No negative reactions on my skin but nothing positive either.

    Would I buy this again?

For the price I paid, how it looks and the bath it created was ok, I would but for a friend. I wouldn’t repeat purchase this because it didn’t stand out enough to go in for another buy. But for friends who like bath bombs and baths in general, I think what I paid was good and even full price a more affordable bath bomb from LUSH. So this was decent, but not exceptional.

  • Was The LUSH Sale Worth It?

When most people think of bath bombs they automatically think of the shop LUSH. And rightly so. They’ve built up a successful business based on bath time treats which are colourful, fragrant and for many people totally addictive. Are they the cheapest? No. But they are the most well known. So could I resist their Boxing Day sale a few weeks ago which consisted of half price bath, body and shower products? Nope!

My Boxing Day purchases from LUSH
    What did I buy?

I ordered online as I wasn’t queuing outside the store as if I was in Disneyland Paris (been there done that!). Stock levels changed every time I went to their site but persistence is the key and I kept checking and finally go my order in. I bought 15 items in total, but one was a gift set which included 6 full sized products. So all in all I purchased 20 items which included 1 soap, 7 bubble bars and 12 bath bombs which included:

    Snow Bear Soap

An adorable bear shaped soap that smells of marzipan. I bought this for a friend who will be celebrating a birthday soon, but not sure she will get it now as I like this!

    Snow Bear Soap
    Labyrinth Bubble Bar

Interesting and unusual shape and design, bold in colour with lots and lots of shimmer! Smells very fruity.

    Labyrinth Bubble Bar
    Sleepy Bubble Bar

I bought 3 of these because I love bubble bars! Cloud shaped, multi coloured and another sweetly fragranced piece. But this is more sweet herbal in the form of lavender.

    Sleepy Bubble Bar
    Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb

I bought 4 of these because I’ve had this one before (read my review here), loved it and needed more! Even better half price. This has the same scent as the Sleepy Bubble Bar which is a sweet Lavender type fragrance.

    Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb
    Crystal Snow Bath Bomb

This is more of a traditional shaped bath bomb with the addition of a crystal like topping. Minty in scent but in the packet of chewie mints type of smell not fresh mint out of the garden fragrance.

    Crystal Snow Bath Bomb
    Gift Horse Bath Bomb

For some reason this reminds me of an orange version of Donkey from Shrek! Fun appearance, good size and smells a little floral with a zestiness to it.

    Gift Horse Bath Bomb
    Snow Dragon Bath Bomb

I grabbed 2 of these. And why wouldn’t I if they worked out at £1.75 each?? This has a citrus scent to it, probably lemon. Very fresh but like the other items in my LUSH order has a sweetness to it.

    Snow Dragon Bath Bomb
    Snowman Finger Puppet Bath Bomb

This is a simple in look bath bomb but totally adorable. I like the idea of it being a finger puppet but when I get the chance to, this is just getting thrown in the bath! This is another minty bath bomb in scent but different to Crystal Snow Bath Bomb.

    Snowman Finger Puppet Bath Bomb
    Christmas Candy Box Gift

I’ve not opened this yet. I’m still trying to work out how I’m going to store all the above without housing them in the massive box it came in, so left this in it’s packaging. This contains a Candy Cane Bubble Bar, Snow Fairy Wand Bubble Blower, Snow Fairy Bath Bomb, Creamy Candy Bubble Bar, Butterbear Bath Bomb and a Sweet Pudding Bath Bomb.

    Christmas Candy Gift Box
    What did I spend?

A total of £45.50. Yes yes…that’s a decent chunk of money for things that fizz in the bath. But divide that amount by 20 and each piece cost £2.27..BARGAIN!

    Recommended?

LUSH only has one sale a year. The chances of me buying anything in the store in general is very slim unless it was a special occasion e.g my birthday. But waiting for this event, putting to one side a little bit of money to have a splurge is definitely something I would recommend. If you are a LUSH fan and/or a lover of bath bombs I would wait for their ultimate sale and save yourself lots of money.
