  • 29p Gel Mask From Home Bargains, Any Good?

I love skincare, but I don’t have the time to indulge in it the way I used to. My life is full of to do lists, so skin and body care needs to be done easily, relatively quickly and can be slotted into my routine without really noticing it. So when I found a mask in Home Bargains that seemed quick, easy and cheap, I had to try it out! So how did Que Bella’s 1% Hyaluronic Acid Gel Mask perform at a cost of 29p?

What does this mask supposed to do?

This mask is designed to help skin that is lined, wrinkled and dry. Suitable for all skin types, but should make the skin look and feel smoother, softer, moisturised and healthier.

    Packaging

Que Bella’s 1% Hyaluronic Acid Gel Mask comes in a sachet. Very basic in look, is supposed to be easy to open and use (rip in corner allows mask to be poured out). What I like about how this is packaged is it’s perfect for a one time use. Easy to travel with because of size and is flat, and doesn’t scream a certain age or sex with how it looks.

    Consistency & texture

This mask is clear, gel like but quite fluid. Not particularly thick but easy to apply and not too runny.

    How to use

Apply to clean skin. Either leave on or rinse off.

    In use

I put the sachet in the fridge for extra cooling. Pouring it out of the sachet was more trouble than what it was worth. It didn’t pour, it needed to be teased and pushed out of the sachet. So much easier for it to rip open or cut like any other sachet packaging.

There was plenty of mask for one if not two applications. Very easy to spread onto the skin. Very cooling and not too heavy. I could tell there was something on my face, and to look at it my skin it looked shiny. But overall the mask felt very comfortable on.

I didn’t rinse this off, I left it on overnight. The following morning I washed my face as usual. Although I could tell there was something on my face it was easy and quick to wash off. Skin afterwards didn’t feel dry. Looked as it normally does, felt reasonably fresh. I didn’t feel this mask performed amazingly but didn’t perform badly either. It was just ok. No changes I could see, for the good or the bad, but was a few minutes of pampering.

    Recommended?

It’s a very basic formulation for a mask. I don’t think anyone would be wowed by this, but for a super cheap little skin treat it could be worse. It could be bright red and smell of synthetic strawberries and make you itch! For most people this will be absolutely fine. If you’re wanting a brand new face and amazing results, don’t buy this. If you want no fuss, no frills pampering, give it a go!

  • 4 Items In Home Bargains To Buy For Under £1.50

Finding affordable bath, body and skincare products, if you love them, is like Christmas coming early. It is for me! As someone who has a bath every evening, I love adding different products in it. Skincare lover? I like switching up my skincare routine occasionally or slotting in a new product. Even better, finding a product I normally use but at a reduced price. And as for body care, who doesn’t love different textured and fragranced formulas that cleans or moisturise the skin on the body? So I recently found 4 products in Home Bargains, 2 for the face and 2 for the bath, each under £1.50. So what did I find?

4 Items In Home Bargains To Buy For Under £1.50
    Face Facts Ceramide Repairing Serum

Face Facts is a budget friendly brand I’ve found online, in Tesco and other discount stores. Their Ceramide Reparing Serum isn’t an expensive product and can usually be purchased for £2.00. But in Home Bargains it’s £1.49, which is even better on the pocket! Designed to help maintain the moisture content in the skin while adding to it, and protects the skin. Fragrance free, ideal for sensitive skin and easily can be slotted into any skincare routine.

    Simple’s Soothing Water Cream

The brand Simple is a go to for anyone that wants effective but ‘simple’ formulas, especially those with sensitive skin. This moisturiser is meant to provide not only moisture to the skin, but soothe and calm it, giving it a fresher and well hydrated look. 50ml for only £1.29.

    Simple’s Soothing Water Cream
    Bubble Up’s Bath Bomb

These bath bombs from this brand don’t seem to be readily available on the high street anymore. But for only 69p , these are incredibly affordable. Decent size, slight shimmer to the bath bomb and nicely packaged, so great for gift giving.

    Bubble Up’s Bath Bomb
    Bubble Up’s Bath Bar

I’ve used Bubble Up’s Bath Bars before and really enjoyed them. I found them to be surprisingly very moisturising on the skin, enjoyable and fun to use. The version I found was in Sail Away With Me, which is fragranced in sea fennel and eucalyptus. So hopefully this should be very fresh in scent, slightly earthy and aromatherapy like. Price? Only 69p!

Bubble Up’s Sail Away With Me Bubble Bath Bar

Have you spotted any of these in your local Home Bargains? I think these are great products at great prices. But as always, who knows how long these will be in stock for, so grab while you can!

  • What I Bought My 14 Year Old Daughter For Her Birthday

Being a teenager today is totally different to being a teenager when I was growing up. When it came to fragrance and skincare, we spent our money in The Body Shop, on anything Dewberry, White Musk or Vanilla scented. Today’s teens don’t head to stores like this anymore. It’s places like Sephora or Selfridges they want to head to. But thankfully they still appreciate buying staples on the high street such as Boots and Superdrug. So with my daughter turning 14 this year, what were some of the things I bought her and why?

    Simple Skincare Gift Set

Simple as a brand has a great range of products for lots of people, including teens. Most products are colour, fragrance and soap free, so great for sensitive and young skin. This gift set I purchased contains a good, basic skincare routine. It includes a facial wash, moisturiser, sheet mask and head band.

    Revolution Beauty’s 24k Gold Make-up Pallet

My daughter loves make-up. At the age she is now it’s all about experimenting and finding her own style and flair. This pallet had a good mix of colours that weren’t too obvious, so could be used daily. Revolution Beauty always has a sale online, which includes make-up, so plenty of bargains for teens to grab.

    Avene’s Eau Thermale

I bought this for my daughter last year but in a smaller size, and she loved it. Avene’s Eau Thermale provides instant cooling on the skin. Ideal for skin that’s sensitive as it only contains spring water, and no other ingredient which may or may not be needed especially on teen skin. It’s an easy product to carry and use on the go if needed and perfect for Summer.

    Hair clips

I picked up various hair clips from Home Bargains and Superdrug (when they were on clearance). My daughter loves hair accessories and so do a lot of teenage girls. These are very inexpensive gifts but always appreciated. I got them in different colours and shapes, which she can use if and when needed.

    Hair clips & accessories
    Make-up brushes

You can’t have make-up without brushes! I always find really affordable make-up brushes (which are branded) in Home Bargains. I bought her a blusher brush and eyebrow brushes.

Ectools and Real Technique make-up brushes
Lotions & Potions (formally Glow) fine fragrances

Lotions & Potions fine fragrance products are dupes of well known scents. I bought my daughter Lady Million, which you can guess what THIS smells like (dupe alert)! Housed in an adorable, blue teddy bear shaped bottle (like another well known fragrance), I knew she would like the look and smell of this and she does!

Florence by Mills Wildy Me Eau de toilette

As a fan of Millie Bobby Brown, and a fragrance junkie, I HAD to buy this for my daughter! Normally I buy her body mists, but being 14 it was time to treat her to stronger scented formulations. A floral and woody scent which if I’m honest, isn’t something I like, but it’s different and nice for my daughter to try out. What we like fragrance wise can be similar but very different.

Florence by Mills’s Wildy Me eau de toilette

What do you think about the selection of products I bought my mini me? I can honestly say that except the items bought from Home Bargains, everything else was bought on sale or part of a special promotion. So although not my usual budget friendly purchases, they were the best prices I could get as I shopped around.

Face Facts Overnight Renew Collagen Boost Neck Masks
    So what do I think?

It’s nice to see a range of skincare products for older skin which isn’t expensive. Lots of products on the market for mature skin can have a higher price tag attached to them. Not great when we need all the help we can get! All products are easy to slip into an everyday skincare routine, with these appearing to be for nightly use rather than day time. So a nice way to end the day with a bit of a pamper. For the price these products are, it’s worth giving the products a go unless you need very specific formulations or ingredients.
