  • Miss So….? Secret Crush Perfume Mist

Smelling good means feeling good. It’s no wonder people spend money buying various lotions, potions, perfumes and fragrances to make sure they smell nice. What I love is you don’t have to spend a fortune achieving this. If it’s a fragrance you want to use, there are many body mists available that provide beautiful scents but not at the same cost as actual perfumes. On my current fragrance rotation is Miss So….? Secret Crush Perfume Mist I bought from Superdrug last year. Half price at £2.98.

Why did I chose this one? At the time of purchase I bought a few different fragrances. What appealed to me with this one was the scent description sounded quite fresh, whereas most of my body mists are more fruity or bakery based. I thought this would make a nice change and give me more of a varied selection at home to use.

Miss So..? Secret Crush Perfume Mist

Scent Description ( taken from website ). The So…? Secret Crush fragrance transports your senses to fields of peony and cherry blossom, settling into fruity notes of blushing apricot, before wrapping you in a sweet embrace of amber and musk.

Packaging. This scent comes in a pale blue bottle with white and black detailing e.g spray top, labelling and logo. The look of this is simple. Quite youthful and fashionable.

My scent description. Has an almost soap and water sort of cleanness to it, mixed with floral notes. There’s a powdery element to it and definitely a hint of musk. There is a sweetness to this but not sure whether it’s coming from something floral or fruity but it definitely lifts the scent. Not heady or overpowering.

Strength & Longevity. I don’t think this is designed to be very powerful which isn’t a bad thing. I would say this is light to medium. But to build up the strength like most fragrances you can just apply a little more if needed. Longevity I found if I used this before work, I could still smell this when I finished. I didn’t need to top it up at all. Through out my shifts the scent was still there but just became less obvious.

Top tip. I haven’t smelt all of the scents from this range, but if they are all of similar strength, why not layer them over each other if you find two or maybe three that compliment the other/s. This way you are creating something unique and personal to you.

Recommended? Totally recommended. The scent is a lovely one which I actually think is perfect for Spring and Summer. It’s not too heavy, and gives you a clean scent which isn’t boring or one dimensional. This is quite pretty but not in an obvious floral or feminine way. It’s a scent most people will like and its great for everyday use with a decent strength and longevity. And the great bit is this is regularly on some form of offer at Superdrug, making it super affordable!

  • Superdrug’s Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream

Gratitude is a word that I try to think about everyday. Being grateful for what I have, who I have and where I am in this crazy thing called life is always in the back of my mind. And this extends to the physical side of myself. Accepting the good and the bad bits ( literally! ) of how I appear is something that perhaps with age is now easier. But by the grace of all that is holy if I can improve on those irritating things I don’t like I WILL! My personal annoying part of my face is my eyes. So I bought Superdrug’s Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream to give them a boost. Normally £3.99 for 15ml, I purchased it on a buy one get one half price deal around month ago.

Superdrug’s Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream

Why did I buy this? In all honesty I didn’t want this product! I wanted something else but it wasn’t available. So I opted for this for a few reasons. I just needed an eye product because my last one had ran out, so something was better than nothing. It was priced well so very affordable. Plus I’ve never used anything from this subrange before so thought I would give it a whirl!

What is this supposed to do? This eye cream is designed for normal to dry skin. Its supposed to improve the overall look of the eye area by nourishing it ( not my wording it’s Superdrug’s ). Personally, I think its purpose is to keep the eye area moisturised therefore making it look better.

My eye concerns. The skin under my eyes generally is normal but can have their dry days. But my main concerns at the moment are the fact they can look very tired, lifeless and suffer from dark circles from time to time.

Packaging. Like a lot of eye creams this comes in a tube. Neutral in colour, screw top lid and to release the product you simply squeeze it out.

Texture. Definitely cream like in texture but not runny, so holds its shape when its released from the tube. Has a slightly waxy feel to it but not greasy. Off white in colour.

How to use. With fingertips, gently apply to around the eye area.

In use. I use a small dot placed on the tip of my finger and gently pat it around my eyes and then softly massage it in. You really don’t need much of this and with all eye products less is more. It feels very light weight but still moisturising, and doesn’t give a greasy look to under and around the eyes. It hasn’t caused puffiness either which is good. This area looks normal in appearance but they feel hydrated. This is my current eye cream so this is my general routine morning and evening after a cleansed skin, and I’ve been using this for a few weeks now.

Top tip. Leave this in the fridge to provide a cooling effect if your eyes really have gone through the ringer.

Would I buy this again? I would but not regularly. It wouldn’t be a product I would need to use all the time, just at certain time periods. Wearing a face mask can make this area dry for me. Not drinking enough water or lack of sleep does the same. And dare I say with hay fever season coming up this is a good product for me to have on stand by. But for everyday use I need something else. I think my eyes have felt in good condition using this but I need a product to make them look more alive which I don’t think this has done for me. No change with the appearance of dark circles. But bare in mind, this is not what this product promises to do, this is just what my own concerns are.

Recommended? If under your eyes looks and feel dry then its a yes! This eye cream will not only give the feeling of light relief but will keep them moisturised. Easy to use, sinks into the skin quickly and if needed could be layered with a lighter textured eye product such as a serum. Not a product I personally think will make your eyes pop with energy and vibrancy, but will stop them drying out so a great maintenance product. Ideal if you are on a small beauty budget so easy to keep repeat purchasing.

Are you thinking of adding this to your skincare collection? Visit Superdrug here to grab this tube to help those thirsty eyes. get drink. *At the time of writing this post this product is on a buy one get one half price deal again. Perfect time to stock up on some goodies!

  • Delicious Destinations Flamingo Body Mist

I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time I bought a perfume. When I say perfume I mean a branded one, fashion house, eau de toilette or eau de parfum. Why? I don’t have the budget! No, that’s a lie….If I buy one fragrance for £30-50 I could spend that on a multitude of different things I love such as gin, wax melts, bath bombs, books etc. So keeping it cheap and cheerful but still wanting to smell nice means body mists are one of my must buys. Delicious Destinations from Superdrug is what I douse myself with at the moment. At a cost of £3.99 ( at the time it was half price ) for 100ml.

    Delicious Destinations Flamingo Body Mist

Why did I buy this one? I like to smell nice! Body mists are affordable so I buy one or five at a time. But going for this particular fragrance was because I love sweet and fruity scents. Anything these days that has a connection with unicorns, flamingos or lamas seems to be part of that fragrance range so I assumed Delicious Destinations Flamingo would fall into that category.

Packaging. This mist comes in a plastic bottle with a pump spray to release fragrance. The shape of it is nice, not straight up and down. But wider at the top and gets more narrower further down. On the front is a picture of a flamingo. On the back all the information you need e.g ingredients, on a colourful, bright, ombre effect label.

Scent Description. On Superdrug’s website it just says this is bold, feminine and flirty! But on the actual bottle it keeps it much more easier to digest and says coconut, milk and orchid!

My scent description. Slightly floral but delicate. I hate floral on its own and when its strong, but find it creates a lovely base for many a fragrance and it does with this one. Coconut is there too. Think of the usual coconut fragrance you get with most things and that’s what this is. So it has a tropical edge to it and sweetness. The milk bit I can only assume is coconut milk rather than milk on its own, because there is a slight creaminess to this. Overall it’s a nice fragrance, quite summery and one that has my name all over it.

Strength & Longevity. Strength I would say is light to medium. I am not sparing with this body mist at all! My uniform and coat before I start work gets a generous spritz, and that will last me for the whole 4 plus hours of physical work. I feel it does lessen over that time in strength but it’s there, which is what you want.

Recommended? Yes! For a few reasons. One, it smells nice. Two, its a good size and even if like me you use this a lot, it should last awhile. Three, it has a good strength and longevity about it but you won’t smell like a 5 year old has gone to town with your fragrance playing grown up. And fourthly, this and other scents in the range are regularly on some form of offer. So whether its half price or buy one get one free, its super affordable!

Want to smell like you are on holiday? Closest any of us will be to that I’m afraid for now! Get yours from Superdrug here. *at time of writing this, this currently is half price. PLUS, if you want this but in a stronger formulation e.g eau de toilette, here it is! Also half price! Kerching!

  • Miss So? Midnight Magic Oriental Vanilla & Praline Perfume Mist

I don’t think there are many people who would disagree with this comment, but smelling good is important. It’s like adding icing on top of a cake, it just finishes off a person. Fragrance of any sort whether its on myself, in my home or car, really helps my mood and how I generally feel. So it should come as no surprise that I have one or ten body mists floating around my bathroom, which I pick and use depending on what I want to smell like. One on my current rotation is Miss So?’s Midnight Magic Perfume Mist in Oriental Vanilla & Praline scent. Bought from Superdrug for £2.98 ( usually price £5.99 ).

Why this one? I buy body mists regularly because they are a lot cheaper than actual perfumes. I can use them as little or often as I like without worrying about the cost of replacing them. This one I opted for because I had never tried this mist and this particular fragrance. It was on sale at half price, and with the fragrance containing my loved vanilla I thought I would naturally like it.

Packaging. Very cute. Not much different from a body spray in regards to the bottle and how its housed e,g shape and lid. Bottle is soft pink in colour. The brand and fragrance name simply put in black and white which gives it a clean, stylish and modern feel to it with relevant details/information on the back.

Miss So? Midnight Magic Oriental Vanilla & Praline Perfume Mist

Scent. This is made for me! It has that familiar vanilla smell to it. A little sweet, creamy, almost bakery like. There’s also a hit of what I can only describe as toffee or fudge like in scent, but its not massively obvious but there. And the tiniest splash of floral finishes it off. Not too sweet but great for those who love sweet scented fragrances.

Strength & longevity. Strength was light. I could smell it as I applied it and when I sprayed it over myself e.g clothes. But I never found it to be that strong I could just give myself a little spritz and off I went. To get the desired strength I would spray ALOT of this on myself. Longevity could have been better too. I didn’t really notice the smell throughout the day. If it was there it was very very light. If I had the time while at work I would reapply this but I never do. So strength and longevity for me could be improved on and a little disappointing.

Recommended? I liked the scent of this and the price when on offer was good value. But I needed this to be punchier and linger more. Now, I take on board the fact this is a body mist and not a perfume so I never expected too much. But I’ve had products like this before and they’ve been stronger, so for me I wouldn’t buy this particular one again. BUT I would happily try this in another version such as the Eau Fraiche or something from a different fragrance family to see if that makes a difference.

I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who wants a strong, long lasting scent. But for a bakery lover fragrance wise wanting something light and not heavy, this might right up your street! Still on a half price deal at £2.98 ( at time of writing this post ), you can visit your Superdrug or order online here for your sweet scented treat.
