  • 3 New Lacura Products In Aldi

My local Aldi store can be hit, miss or maybe when it comes to new Lacura products. Sometimes the stock is plentiful of new lotions and potions, sometimes baskets and shelves look like a jumble sale. I was a little disappointed to find only a few new items in my store last week, but I did find 3 products which looked really interesting. So what did I find?

    Lacura’s Scalp & Body Scrub

Aldi’s Lacura Scalp & Body Scrub is a product that can be used on both the scalp and the body. This is to help remove dead skin and invigorate these areas which will help the look and feel of them. It’s an interesting product as I’ve never seen a scrub that can be used literally from head to toe. £3.99 for 250g.

    Lacura’s Body Crème

Aldi’s Lacura Body Crème is a rich and moisturising formulation for the skin. Ideal to use after the Scalp & Body Scrub, this is designed to really give the skin an added smoothness and hydration ideal for this time of the year. £3.99 for 250g.

    Lacura’s Handbag Fragrances

I found 3 different fragrances available in Aldi’s Lacura Handbag Eau de Parfums. I couldn’t get an idea on how these smelt due to packaging and no testers. But guessing due to how these look, I suspect one will be quite light, fresh and floral. One dark, heavier and seductive and the last one a cleaner and fresher fragrance. £1.99 for 15ml is affordable and a great product to travel with.

    Aldi’s Lacura Handbag Fragrances

So these are the three new products I’ve found in my local Aldi. I really loved the look of the fragrances, especially for my daughter. But the body butter and scrub did look luxurious and pampering. Are these dupes? Probably, knowing Aldi. The scrub and crème look and sound very similar to a brand called Quai. This is ALOT more expensive than the Lacura versions but I can’t deny the strong resemblance between their products and these.

If any of these products sound appealing, you really do need to check your local store asap because they won’t be there for long!

  • Surprise! I like So…? Unique’s Sweet Pea Body Mist!

If you’ve read enough of my blog posts/product reviews, you l know how much I love body mists. They’re one of the most affordable forms of fragrance you can get and they can be purchased anywhere from a supermarket, to a discount store or even a chemist. I THOUGHT I knew what I liked fragrance wise, but So…? Unique’s Sweet Pea Body Mist has caught me slightly off guard. Given to me as a gift last year, I’ve just started to use this, so what is it like?

So…? Unique’s Sweet Pea Body Mist
    Packaging

This is actually the travel sized version and is 50ml in size. Plastic, clear bottle with a very simple floral illustration on the front. There’s nothing special in regards to how it looks, but this size is incredibly sweet to look at and very practical to carry around day to day.

    Fragrance

When I think of sweet pea, rightly or wrongly, I think old fashioned. Floral, old, not very appealing and one dimensional. So…? Unique’s Sweet Pea Body Mist is nothing like this. Yes it’s floral, but more white floral based, so not heavy but still feminine and very pretty. There’s an almost sweet effervescence to this because it’s quite energising and there’s no mistaking my personal favourite of vanilla is in this too. This body mist is actually really REALLY good and perfect for Spring/Summer.

    Strength & Longevity

When first applied (I always spray fragrance on clothes not on skin), it’s very noticeable but in quite a natural way so strength is light to medium. Longevity is what I would expect for this type of fragrance and I can still smell the fragrance hours after use but it’s very light. I would normally say this would be great stronger, and yes I would love it to be. But the type of scent this is I think the strength and longevity is actually perfect and doesn’t need to be a power force.

    Recommended?

I’m not messing about, yes I completely recommend this! It’s one of those scents you think will smell a certain way but ends up being totally different. Any age could wear and like this, even if you’re not a massive floral fan like me! It’s such a lovely fragrance which makes me smile every time I use it which is how fragrances should make you feel.

This body mist can be grabbed from many places on the high street, including Boots. Usual price is £5.99 for the full size of 150ml, but the range is regularly on offer at some point in different stores.

  • Superdrug’s Layering Lab Sweetie Body Mist

I’ve been using the usual body mists from my collection every morning, but desperately wanted a change. I needed a different kind of fragrance hit. I totally forgot I bought Superdrug’s Layering Labs Sweetie Body Mist last year when it was on a special price promotion. So of course it needed to come out, especially since I’ve never used Layering Lab body mists before. What is it like?

Superdrug’s Layering Lab Sweetie Body Mist
    Packaging

Layering Lab Sweetie Body Mist comes in a plastic, clear, spray bottle. I like the fact it’s not totally rectangular in shape as the edges are curved, making it a little different in look. Simple label but reasonably appealing so would suit various age groups.

    Fragrance

This is a great mix of creamy and comforting vanilla, floral but not old fashioned rose with juicy, fruity notes thrown in too (scent description says pear). I love how this smells because it’s gorgeous and doesn’t seem to be aimed at a particular group or age of people who would use this because of how it smells. I’m not a massive rose fan but this gives it extra depth and a perfume quality of fragrance rather than body mist.

    Strength & Longevity

When I first apply this, the scent is very obvious and quite punchy. It’s very uplifting and strength wise I would say is a medium. Personally, I would like the strength to be maintained a little longer because it is such a beautiful fragrance, along with it’s longevity as well. To be fair, I still can smell this a few hours after the first application but it’s much fainter. Since it’s has the rose base (I find rose being one of the most strongest and lingering floral fragrances), I would’ve liked this to perform a touch better. But it still did a decent job.

    Recommended?

Despite wishing more from this on the performance front, this is still a great fragrance. The smell is stunning for a body mist and I enjoy wearing this which is the most important thing. I can see why this would appeal to a younger market but equally to an older one too. So I would still recommend this. At the end of the day it’s a body mist and expectations can’t be the same compared to a fine fragrance. And for the price, and the fact this is regularly on a price promotion, definitely one to buy!

Superdrug’s Layering Lab Sweetie Body Mist normally costs £3.99 for 100ml. At the time of writing this post this is on a buy one get one half price promotion.

  • Escentuals White Musk Body Mist

Who doesn’t like a body mist? Men, women, girls and boys, body mists are the affordable way to a get a fragrance hit. That’s why I love using them because it gives me a wide choice of fragrances to wear everyday but doesn’t cost me too much money. I’m always on the look out for new body mists or sprays, and I found last year Escentuals White Musk Body Mist in Boots for £2.50.

    Escentuals White Musk Body Mist
    Why did I buy this?

I was looking for small gift ideas for friends for Christmas and body mists are always a great product to buy for them. I stumbled on this range because it was on a special offer (£2.50 instead of £4.00), the scents were appealing and I’ve never used them before so I wanted to see what they were like.

    Packaging

Escentuals White Musk Body Mist comes in a blue tinted, clear, plastic spray bottle. This is very plain in look so would appeal to most people of most ages.

    Fragrance

This has a white floral scent to it. Its fresh, it’s quite sweet in smell and very youthful. I really like the fragrance because it’s quite feminine and not old fashioned.

    Strength & Longevity

Despite being very generous with the application of Escentuals Body Mist on my clothes, I thought the initial scent was there but should have been much stronger. The amount I applied should have knocked me out but it barely made a dent to my nose, so I would say strength wise this was low. I use this just before I leave in the morning for work and I barely notice it during the day, so longevity for me isn’t great.

    Something else to add?

After using this I found it leaked. I don’t know whether it’s just this one spray bottle this is happening to or all, but after spraying this it’s on my hands and even on the floor.

Escentuals White Musk & Vanilla Body Mist
    Recommended?

Although I like the fragrance of this body mist and the packaging, the strength and longevity is a little disappointing to me. I never expect body mists to be everlasting and massively punchy in how they smell, but I’ve had stronger with better longevity. Is it possibly because of the actual fragrance this is weak? Would a different version be better? No idea. I have the vanilla version so will test this out at some point. But I won’t be buying this again. Strong fragrances aren’t for everyone but I still think, even for those people who want softness, they could get a better body mist from a different brand.
