There’s a massive love for anything matcha. It started off as a drink and now its everywhere and in everything. Not something I’ve enjoyed drinking, so anything connected with it isn’t something I would buy. But there are people who love this grass looking and smelling substance, which is now inspiring skin and body care products. I stumbled on Miracle Beauty products in Home Bargains that may (or may not) be the next purchase for matcha lovers. So, what did I find?

Matcha Foaming Cleanser
100ml of a foaming cleanser created to remove dirt, make-up and oil effectively without drying out the skin. Should be easy and quick to use, light weight texture making it a good product to use during warmer months. £1.99 for 100ml.

Matcha Face Serum
Apply to clean skin in the morning and evening, this product should hydrate, freshen and help the skin to feel smoother. £1.99 for 30ml.

Matcha Face Mask
Leave on clean and dry skin for up to 30 minutes, this mask should hydrate, calm and nourish the skin thanks to containing shea butter, aloe vera, jojoba oil and matcha. 99p.

Matcha Body Scrub
This scrub contains sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, matcha and sunflower oil (just to name a few ingredients). A muted shade of green colour, grainy with dried herbs or flowers in it. It actually looks surprisingly inviting. £1.99 for 220g.

Matcha Body Lotion
A good partner to the body scrub, this is supposed to be a light weight but hydrating lotion. Containing jojoba oil and shea butter, this should give the skin on the body a moisturised look and feel. £1.99 for 220g.

Do these products actually have matcha in it?
Matcha is basically ground up green tea. Green tea is supposed to be good for the skin, in regards to ageing, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and more other benefits. Looking at the ingredients of these products each one does appear to have it in them as mentioned by camellia sinensis leaf or ryoku-cha ekisu.
Thoughts?
All products are affordable with decent, standard sizes for what they are. Packaging is basic along with the look, but ties in well with the whole matcha thing, making them stand out on the shelf. Good mix of skin and body care products, containing some decent ingredients. Not a range for me, but I can see this would appeal to people who like the practical and fun theme of these products.
