I love Simple skin and body care products. The products are available easily on the high street, great range of products for different concerns and needs which are all fairly priced. All my experiences have been positive, so I’m always excited to try products new to me and my skin. I was kindly gifted (#AD) from Simple their 11% Niacinamide + Zinc + PHA Purify Serum to review. So what is it like?

What is this?
This serum is designed to help minimise blemishes and the marks left behind. It helps to control excess oils, and can help to stop further breakouts by promoting skin renewal.
Who will this be for?
People who suffer from oily skin, skin that tends to break out and can leave the skin irritated, red and marked.
Packaging
Simple’s Purify Serum comes in a small, white, opaque bottle (not sure if it’s glass or some super strong plastic!). The box it comes in mirrors the bottle, with both being white with green/blue detailing. Application is done via a pipette in the lid.
Look & consistency
The serum is liquid and fluid. Not quite as fluid as water but very loose. It’s cloudy white in colour, so easy to see when first applying to the skin.
How to use
Shake the bottle and apply to clean, damp skin once or twice a day. If applying in the morning, follow up with an SPF. Serum can be used on its own or mixed in with your moisturiser.

My skin type
Good question! Probably more normal to combination and sometimes can be dry. Blemishes isn’t an everyday issue but with hormonal changes they can hit me every few months.
In use
I’ve used this product for around 8/9 days. Just before I started to use this my skin decided to experience a few break outs. I wished I’d used this earlier but I didn’t see the invasion coming! So when I applied this I had at least one full on spot. I found the serum easy to apply, with a little going a long way. Comfortable on the skin, skin looked and felt normal with zero shine. In fact, I was worried this would make my skin feel dry but it didn’t, it felt comforted. The serum sank in quickly, felt protected and soon after I applied my moisturiser (SPF in morning) and went on with my life.
On my blemishes (it started as one and then evolved), it didn’t eradicate them. What I find is a spot for me will linger and leave a mark and then it takes awhile to disappear. Using this serum, the healing time of the first blemish seemed quicker, with the mark left not being as dark as it usually can be.
Sometimes I’ve used this twice a day, sometimes once. So my results may have been better if done twice. But some evenings I forgot! I do feel my skin dealt with this recent break out better and quicker with 11% Niacinamide + Zinc + PHA Purify Serum than without.
Recommended? And any last thoughts?
When I received this I genuinely thought this product might not be for me. My skin isn’t what I would call oily. I thought this would dry it out and wouldn’t be hydrating enough for my skin. Wrong! Definitely hydrating enough with zero drying to the skin. Although this isn’t a serum I would need to use all the time, it can be dropped into my routine when I can feel and see my skin is going to develop blemishes. Anything that can shorten the time a spot or ten is on my skin and reduce marks is a bonus. And I think this product can do that.
Definitely recommended! Not for everyone, and not a serum you would need to use all the time if blemishes isn’t a massive issue. But Simple’s 11% Niacinamide + Zinc + PHA Purify Serum if right for you, is a good buy!
