It’s not that long ago that I tried a bath bomb from Aldi’s Lacura Range in the fragrance of Sugared Berries. And here I am trying out another one! This isn’t just one bath bomb but a boxed set of two, called Oh So Sleepy Box. How much was this set of 2 fragranced bath bombs? 99p!
Why did I buy this?
I actually saw this set when it was first in my local store around Mother’s Day, and it cost £3.99. Intrigued, but I wasn’t tempted enough to buy it. Fast forward a few months later they were reduced to £1.99 and I saw a potential gift idea so I picked up two. Food shop with one kid during half term last week and I spotted these down to 99p! Absolute bargain…so I picked up three boxes!
What do you get & How is it packaged?
2 lavender and bergamot bath bombs weighing 180g each. Housed in a rectangular box which shouts relaxation and night time use because of it’s blue colouring and shapes of stars, eyes and moons all over it. There’s a large clear window on the front which shows the bath bombs inside. Nicely presented.
The Bath Bombs
Both round, similar in size and look to other regular bath bombs on the market. These are identical except one is a light shade of blue and the other a soft shade of lilac.
Fragrance
These have a an aromatherapy style fragrance to them. Definite whiffs of lavender and something else which is quite earthy (this probably is the bergamot). This scent wont be to everyone’s taste, but I quite like it! It’s very soothing and calming.
In the bath
What I liked about these bath bombs was how they behaved in the bath. As soon as they hit the water they fizzed and spun around like crazy. What caught my eye was how the colour of the bath bombs ‘bled’ into the water like ink had been dropped into the tub. The lilac bath bomb slowly changed the water to a lilac shade. And the baby blue bath bomb, surprisingly, made the water turn into a dark shade of blue.
After the fizz (and there was quite a bit as these bath bombs danced around for ages until they disappeared!) there was no bubbles just coloured water. What was noticeable was the fragrance. Light to medium in strength and was enjoyable to experience.
I found both these bath bombs created very relaxing baths. Pleasurably, chilled and very peaceful. Kind to my skin and didn’t dry it out.
Recommended?
Anyone who reads my posts on bath bombs will know I’m quite particular. But these are actually not bad at all! For the price, this is great value and perfect for those who want a cheap pampering without using an awful, rubbish, bath bomb. These are packaged well, plain in look but you would still want to use them! AND the fragrance is a good strength and stands out. So if you spot these in your local Aldi store, I would definitely recommend grabbing a box, even pick up a few!
