I have one advent calendar for this year, and that has been from small business Glow. No chocolate filled cardboard box, no gin contained hamper, just Glow’s. And I’m not sorry about that because I know I’m in for a treat! This advent calendar so far has included wax melts, but I know bath, body and other fragrance goodies are included in later days. So what has been behind the doors from Day 1 to 7?
Day 1-Beside The Sea Wax Melt
Beside The Sea is a gorgeous blend of coffee, toasted marshmallow and toffee. I got the coffee straight away scent wise, but I originally thought this was mixed with warmed through sugar or possibly caramel. Similar notes and just as mouth watering. Stunning blend, very comforting and perfect for this time of year.
Day 2-Preloved Wax Melt
This was an earthy/plant like scent but with a slightly fruity and sweet undertone to it. Preloved definitely gives you that feel of going for a walk in a park with frost on the plants and grass while the sun beats down taking the edge off the chill in the air.
Day 3-Cocktails Wax Melt
A fizzy ‘cocktail’ of fruit, vanilla and sugar is how I would describe Day’s 3 wax. There’s a hint of spice in this and this smells good enough to eat! Very energising and one that fruit fragrance lovers will adore.
Day 4-Break A Leg Wax Melt
Break A Leg has a fruity base to it but mixed in with woody notes and herbs. This does have a masculine feel to it but it really is different and stunning in scent. Quite clean in smell but full of depth.
Day 5-Glowsters
Another yummy fragrance, Glowsters is fruit based but with a hint of tropical (pear, coconut, peach and pineapple), florals and musk. Almost perfume like as I could imagine this being a body fragrance of some sort and very pretty. LOVE!
Day 6-Happy Birster Box
Happy Birster Box is a bakery fragrance but with a winter twist. The bakery bit comprises of caramel, almost burnt sugar like scent and marshmallows. The winter bit is the woody notes thrown in of cedar. Very unusual and well rounded.
Day 7-Surprise
Another wax from the bakery family but a little more traditional than the previous ones. Surprise is comforting, sugary but not sickly, and includes vanilla and caramel. Dribble worthy!
How is this advent going so far?
I can honestly say that every single wax I’ve melted so far has been amazing. Each one totally different to the other, great strength and just as good longevity wise. So far I’m getting quite sad I’m changing the wax in my wax warmers so regularly as I’m enjoying the previous one’s way too much! Love this advent and can’t wait to experience the rest over the next days.
