We all have areas of our face that we wish looked different. Mine is my under eye area. Feeling sick? Eyes look tired. Hay fever kicked in? Eyes look deathly. Not enough sleep? Eyes look awful. Basically, my day to day life is plastered all over my under eye area and I want it to look better! This is why eye products are my guilty pleasure. My most recent purchase for the eyes has been L’Oreal’s Revitalift Hydrating Eye Cream. But is it any good?

What is this supposed to do?
L’Oreal’s Revitalift Hydrating Eye Cream is designed to make the under eye area:
Hydrated.
Toned.
Smoother.
Firmer.
Helps with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
This eye product is geared towards people, mainly women, aged 40 and above.
Packaging
This eye cream comes in a small, lidded pot. White in colour, red lid. It comes boxed, mirroring the colours of the pot and lid. Lots of information is on this, what it does, ingredients etc, which is helpful when deciding whether to purchase this or not. How this is presented doesn’t look cheap and is definitely geared towards a more mature purchaser/user.

Texture
L’Oreal’s Revitalift Hydrating Eye Cream looks luxurious and thick, and it is. Off white in colour, smooth and silky, but texture wise not greasy.
Fragrance
There’s no obvious fragrance in this eye cream, and fragrance isn’t mentioned on the packaging. So ideal for those who don’t want their skincare to be scented, because this product doesn’t have one.
On the under eye
I use a small amount of this eye cream and lightly dab into the undereye area and massage it in. It’s a beautiful product to apply. Thick but not greasy. It wasn’t heavy on the skin and felt quite light weight. It also didn’t leave a film or sheen on the skin. My eyes did feel moisturised and protected, but not overloaded with product, which I loved!

Any changes to the eyes?
Honestly? Out of all the things this product says it will help with, one thing definitely gets a tick which is about hydration. My under eyes feel supple and moisturised from morning to night. No tightness, very nourished and comfortable. Anything else? Not that I’ve seen so far after using this for a few weeks, but lets see!
Recommended?
Now, this is the tough part. I’m not convinced that any eye cream/serum/gel will create magic on the face, but I can’t help but try to find it! As much as I wished this was THE eye cream it isn’t. BUT, I really like this product as a general eye cream. The texture is gorgeous, I love applying this to my eyes. It keeps my under eye area well moisturised in a natural feeling way. I can see why this is aimed for older skin. What I would say is if you want a good quality eye cream to maintain and nourish this area, this could be for you. Anything more than that, the jury is out for me. It’s maintaining my under eyes but not changing it.
Cost
This isn’t the cheapest skincare product but not the most expensive. Normally, L’Oreal’s Revitalift Hydrating Eye Cream retails for around the £15.00 on the high street but currently is half price at Boots (at time of writing this post). Unfortunately, skincare products for the more mature skin does have a a bigger price tag, so if this sounds like the product for you get, it while it’s on offer!
