I’m a lover of fragrance. But I’m not a lover of paying high prices. Disposable income and motherhood don’t walk hand in hand, and paying a lot for my fragrances is just a no. So I opt for more affordable versions. They could be fragrances on sale, available in discount stores for a lower price or the easiest to purchase is body mists. My recent purchase was Impulse’s Sweet Cherub from Boots. Usual price £6.00 but was half price at £3.00 for 100ml.
Why did I buy this?
It was affordable being half price. How it was packaged on the website looked appealing, but the scent description grabbed me the most because it described some of my favourite scents.
Packaging
Sweet Cherub comes in a standard, plastic spray topped bottle. Clear, with a nice looking arty label on it. The bottle itself comes boxed which I thought was a nice touch, especially for gift giving. The image on the front mirrors the label on the bottle, and continues the cream and burgundy colour theme that’s on the bottle as well. It looks good, suits the fragrance this mist is in and overall the packaging would appeal to many people.
Fragrance
Sweet, floral, vanilla with a hint of musk. This is a great combination which always works well and this smells so nice. What I would say is its not particularly sophisticated. If there was a touch more musk and earthiness in this it would elevate it and make it smell more like a perfume than a mist. But I like this! I’m a massive lover of vanilla and sweeter scents so how this smells won me over.
Strength & Longevity
Strength of this body fragrance mist was obvious when first applied, so a medium. Not too overpowering but enough to notice it. But I would have loved this to have been stronger. The medium strength died down not too long after application which meant for me the longevity and staying power wasn’t the best. I could just about get a hint of this scent hours later but it was incredibly faint. Both strength and longevity could be so much better.
Recommended?
Despite the fact I felt Impulse’s Sweet Cherub Body Fragrance Mist didn’t have a long lasting punch I really like how it smells. Anyone who loves vanilla would love this, teens, people who like warmer scents wouldn’t say no to this either. The overall scent is very good and if bought at a good price, is worth repeat reapplying if and when needed. Would I buy this at £6.00? No. Would I buy this at £3.00 again? Absolutely!
