Dupes are something we see everywhere now, it’s the norm. So many brands and products are ‘inspiration’ for cheaper alternatives. And as customers we are still lapping them up! One of the most recent dupes that’s hit the high street is the new body sprays available in Lidl. I managed to find them in store recently, so what did I find?
What is this a dupe for?
These Lidl own brand Deluxe body sprays are dupes of LUSH. From the packaging to the actual scents, it’s clear what was the inspiration behind these body sprays.
Packaging
Packaging is simple. The fragrances are housed in an all black plastic spray bottle which shape reminds me more of a cleaning product than a fragrance bottle. It has a large and thick trigger lever to press for the release of fragrance. Label has the fragrance name on it along with what it’s designed to smell like, which is helpful when purchasing. Again, very similar to LUSH body sprays.
Fragrances
I only found two in the store I visited, so not sure if there’s anymore available now or at a later date. Pop Pop Hurray – buttery popcorn and sweet caramel toffee. Drizzle Me – golden caramel and rich dates. Pop Pop Hurry could be a dupe of Let The Good Times Roll and Drizzle Me has similarities to Sticky Dates. How these fragrances compare to each other I genuinely don’t know as I haven’t smelt the LUSH originals. But from the descriptions these seem to be the closest scents with familiar notes/aspects.
Price & size
Lidl’s Deluxe body sprays are 200m in size and cost £3.99. The LUSH counterparts are also 200ml in size but start from £25.00 depending on the fragrance.
Thoughts?
I like the look of these. Despite the fact they’re basic in packaging they are noticeable. There’s no way these wouldn’t catch your eye, especially since they look so much like LUSH body sprays. Ideally there needs to be more fragrances available, 4 to 6 would be perfect. What would be good is to see fragrances that match up with the LUSH shower gel dupes Lidl already sell. Size is great for everyday use, you won’t need to be careful when and how much to use. And price is fair and much more affordable than the original version.
