I was given a generous stash of LUSH products from a friend recently. Not only was I incredibly thrilled and thankful for receiving such a thoughtful gift, I also knew I would enjoy using them. Why? The friend in question has near identical tastes to me bath and body product wise. So if she chose them I trusted them! One of the products I was fascinated by was Scrubee Body Butter.
What is this?
This is a solid body exfoliator and moisturiser. Containing grounded up coconut shells and almonds, this should buff off the dead skin cells leaving the skin on the body soft. With the addition of shea butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil, this is designed to moisturise, protect and leave the skin feeling smooth.
How does this look?
Scrubee Body Butter is solid, slightly rounded and looks like a bee in it’s shape and appearance (sort of, minus wings). Off white in colour with peppered black stripes going across the body with two small eyes at the front. Very simple but super cute.
Fragrance
Honey with a floral undertone to it. Absolutely stunning in scent, perfect for those who love their more sweeter fragrances but don’t want sugary sweet. I adore how this smells and could happily have everything and anything in this scent.
How to use
Scrubee Body Butter can be used in either the bath or shower. Rub gently over damp skin and rinse off.
In use
I applied this onto damp skin. What I did was use the rounded top of this product. This is where the exfoliating pieces are as they aren’t on the bottom of it. I expected the exfoliation to be underwhelming but it actually was quite good! I could feel it on my skin, it wasn’t too harsh but felt as if it was doing something.
Scrubee Body Butter, even on damp skin, acted like a solid body butter. It didn’t foam, it didn’t lather, it didn’t milk up. It just looked like it was warmed by my skin and left a physical layer of it on my body. So don’t confuse this for a form of body wash or soap because it isn’t.
Rinsing off wasn’t a rinse off as such. This was still on my skin even after attempting a rinse but my skin did feel very soft, smooth, highly moisturised and beautifully fragrant. Be mindful of your bath or shower tray when using this. My bath was slippery and needed a good rinse to get rid of it along with the exfoliation bits as some of these came away from the product.
Recommended?
This is an odd product! When I first looked at it, it felt and looked like a fun but solid body butter. LUSH do sell these in various shapes and forms and this looked similar. But the fact you apply it onto damp skin threw me. Providing exfoliation confused me on top of this too! Once I understood what this was I found it a nice product. The look of this was cute, the fragrance to die for, good exfoliation and left my skin feeling great and moisturised. But if I’m honest I found using this a bit of a faff!
I would recommend this for someone with dry skin or wants to add lots of moisture to the skin on their body. And if you are looking for something different and unusual this could be THAT product. Not ideal for people who like their products simple, traditional and quick to use.
