If, like me, you love a good evening bath, you will also love what you put into it. Bath bombs, bath soaks, truffles, you will be open to try most of these. What I love is trying a bath product for the first time. Something new, different and hopefully fun to use. This is why I was excited to try out Olee Cosmetics Zen Bath Tea that I won in a competition last year. Did it deliver a great bathing experience?

What is a bath tea?
Think of a tea bag. You pop it into a mug, pour hot water into it and the tea releases from the bag. This is exactly the same except you don’t drink it, and what’s released into the bath is natural ingredients to help create a great, relaxing bathing experience.
How do they look?
I received three bath teas, all housed in a clear plastic pouch. Each one looks as if they’ve been made from some form of muslin cloth. Slightly see through so you can see lots of grains of salt, petals and seeds inside it.

Fragrance
Zen Bath Teas have a kick of fresh, slightly pungent and unmistakably lavender scent to them. Thankfully not the eye watering strength lavender sometimes you can experience. There’s something else in this which I can’t quite describe which could be the chamomile or could just be the scent of all the ingredients together. Either way, these bath teas have a distinctive aromatherapy style smell to them which is predominately lavender and pleasant.
In the bath
I held one of these bath teas under warm running water. It didn’t colour the bath or create foam, but the warmth did release the fragrance a little and I could see the contents of the tea slowly getting smaller. In the end I popped the whole thing in the bath. The contents of the tea got smaller because the salts dissolved leaving the seeds and petals.
I found the fragrance was quite light in the bath and not as strong as I thought it would be or had hoped. Whether this would’ve been different if I used a bath tea when I first got these or used two instead of one, I’m not sure. But this was ideal for those who wanted something light scent wise, I personally needed more.
The bath itself was plain to look at, which was what I wanted. Fairly relaxing with no changes for the good or bad to my skin. Skin felt normal in and out of the bath.

Recommended?
I like the idea of Zen Bath Tea. Sometimes there isn’t a need or want for colour or bubbles, and a simple bath soak is what you need. The fact all of the ingredients are safely stored in a ‘bag’ means no clean up and no floaty bits in the bath which isn’t what everyone wants. This is a very simple and easy to use bath product. What I would say is to help aide relaxing, I would’ve liked the scent to be stronger, just a little. And for my skin to feel as if it had been treated a little bit more, but that’s just me. Olee Cosmetics Zen Bath Tea is something I would recommend for those who like natural products, like baths (of course) and want something a bit different and natural. This is definitely all of the above!
