In the UK right now, it doesn’t feel like summer. Well, actually, it does. The annoying UK summer that consists of grey skies, wind and constant rain. Despite how awful the weather is right now, I still apply sun protection oo my face. And when the weather is warmer and nicer, the rest of the body gets covered and I try to encourage my teens to wear it too. Our sun protection lotion for the last few years is Garnier Ambre Solaire’s Kids Sensitive Advanced Protection Lotion. But why do we use?

Protection on the skin
It provides a high level of protection against UVB and UVA rays. These can cause skin damage, ageing, and potential risk of skin cancer. Fragrance free, with this formulation being gentle and suitable for the whole family.
Head to toe?
Honestly? I use this on my face and neck daily, and on the rest of my body if it’s on show. I would love to have a sun protection product specifically for the face, but the prices can be crazy! This does this job, so why change it?

Fragrance & consistency
No scent, as it doesn’t have one being fragrance free, which I love! The consistency of this sun product is lotion like. It’s fluid but doesn’t run everywhere because it has a slight hold to it without being too thick. So very easy to apply, a lot goes a long way and you can place it exactly where it needs to be.
On the skin
I apply this over a moisturised skin. This is off white in colour, and when first placed on the skin you can see it. It doesn’t take too long to rub it in. I find I have to pay close attention to my hair line and below my eyebrows. But I can see areas where it needs a little more rubbing in because there’s a slight difference in skin colour. Once rubbed in, skin looks totally normal skin tone wise. In face, it gives my skin a well moisturised, healthy look to it. It feels very comfortable and nourishing on the skin like a good moisturiser/facial cream would.

Price & availabilty
The usual rrp of this product is around the £16.00 mark (for 175ml). But I’ve found this regularly on offer. I bought my last tube for £8.00 a few weeks ago. This product is available everywhere on the high street fromSuperdrug to Boots and many supermarkets.
Recommended?
Definitely! Firstly, the most important thing is it does what its supposed to do which is protect the skin. No burning or issues on that front for either myself or my kids. Easy and quite quick to apply, gentle on the skin but for people with darker skin tones (like me), leaves no white caste if applied properly.
