Overtime, you can forget about the classic brands and products we use. Other things catch our attention and money, and products and routines get switched up and changed. But somehow, somewhere, and someday, we get put back on course to relive and enjoy dependable and staple products that we used to love. Also, to enjoy new versions of them too. This is how I feel about Palmer’s body lotion. Back in the day it was all about their Cocoa Butter lotion, but now there’s two others to choose from. So which is which and what should you use this summer?

Cocoa Butter Softens
Let’s start off with what reminds me of growing up! THAT body product you knew someone was wearing because of the smell, as it’s so distinctive. This has a chocolate like scent to it, more white chocolate than anything else but not sickly. Not only does it smell amazing it can help with marks and even out skin tone. Cocoa Butter Softens is that body lotion you use when you really need to moisturise dry and rough skin.

Coconut Hydrate
Hydrates and contains antioxidants (green coffee extract), means Coconut Hydrate Body Lotion helps to keep the skin well conditioned. Scent wise, this has a coconut-esq scent to it, so has a more tropical, summer holiday feel.

Tahitian Vanilla
Tahitian Vanilla Body Lotion contains a mix of beautiful ingredients including shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter and vanilla fruit extract (just to name a few). This is the newest body lotion in the Palmer’s family, and scent wise it’s everything! Yes, it’s vanilla but with a floral to it. It’s a little more sophisticated than Cocoa Butter, a bit more well rounded, but just as noticeable and iconic.

Which one to use?
To be honest, despite the different scents and ingredients, I find all are great body moisturisers. I haven’t noticed a massive difference in textures between the three, they’re very similar. So if I was to choose which one I would use over the summer months, I would decide mainly on the fragrance. My order of use would be:
- Tahitian Vanilla
- Cocoa Butter
- Coconut
Why? Because vanilla is one of my favourite all time scents and cocoa butter one of my all time favourite ingredients. Plus the scent is so good, comforting and takes me back to being a teenager.
