Supermarkets are a great one stop shop for everything and anything. But over the last few years, they’ve really come into their own when it comes to offering different skin and body products from different brands at different price points. What impresses me is supermarkets having their own branded items, because they tend to be competitively priced and on the whole more suitable for those not wanting to spend a fortune in this area. Visiting my local Sainsbury’s, which I don’t do often, I discovered their very own brand The Edit range. So what is it?

The Edit
This is a range from Sainsbury’s, designed to be premium quality skin and body care products but without the expensive price tag. Suitable for many skin types and concerns, and bringing a wide range of products that can create a full skin or body routine.

What’s available?
Cleansers, serums, face masks, toner mist, moisturisers, body cream and body serum, just to mention a few products!
How do these products help the skin? What do they do?
Some areas these products focus on in regards to the skin are:
Brightening.
Firming.
Moisturising.
Smooth out skin texture.
Hydrate.
Reading the information on the products, on the whole these are designed to make skin look smoother, fresher and more alive.

Packaging
The packaging and look of each product is very simple, clean and neutral. How this appears would attract people who find skincare important and probably enjoy using skincare too. What I like about the packaging is it’s not gimmicky, bright and in your face. Very classic. I think whoever buys these products are intentional with their purchasing.
Ingredients
Some of the ingredients included in these products are: hyaluronic acid, radish root, lavender, almond oil, vitamin c and niacinamide.

Prices
Prices range from £4.50 for the eye gel, £5.00 for the vitamin c serum, £5.20 for the vitamin c cleanser and cleansing balm is £8.65.
Thoughts?
This range of products really grabbed my interest. The way the products are presented makes me feel these are practical products aimed at the 25 plus age range. Nothing about it screams pre-teens or teens, but serious skincare that doesn’t cost the earth. Great mix of products, price points aren’t too high and very competitive. The only thing stopping me from purchasing any of these products is the fact fragrance is added to them. It’s something I try to avoid in skincare as its not needed. But for anyone who doesn’t roll their eyes at seeing ‘parfum’ in the ingredients list, The Edit is worth a look!
