As part of the #SimpleSquadUK team, I was kindly given (#AD) from Simple their Hydrate+Gel Cream to try out and review. I am a Simple skincare user and have tried a few of their facial moisturiser in the past and currently. So I was intrigued whether this would be just as good as one’s I’ve already used. So, what was this product like?
What is this gel cream supposed to do?
Simple’s Hydrate+ Gel Cream is designed to hydrate the skin, make it feel and look more moisturised while the cream is being delivered in a light weight formula.
Packaging
50ml of gel cream comes in a white pot with blue and green detailing. This comes boxed and mirrors how the pot looks. Simple as a brand don’t go over the top with their packaging. They are practical, easy to spot in a store and not gimmicky in how they look, which I like.
Key ingredients
Hyaluronic acid, glycerin – helps to give moisture and keep it in the skin.
Product is vegan friendly, contains no colour, perfume and is suitable for all skin types including sensitive.
Look & texture
This looks like it’s part cream part gel. It’s white in colour but doesn’t appear totally opaque. It’s thick, holds it shape but isn’t as solid as a cream or as loose as a gel.
In use & on the skin
One thing I realised quickly, like the other facial creams in the Simple brand, is less is more. You think you need loads but you don’t. With how the texture is, I assumed I needed more but a little really does go a long way. It feels great on the skin, very soothing and moisturising but light weight as well. After putting this on my skin my face looked hydrated and healthy, not shiny. It felt protected and depending on when applied, I needed nothing else on my skin, this was enough.
You can use this morning and night (on cleansed skin). Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. But this product keeps me well moisturised for hours.

Simple’s Hydrate+Gel Cream is an easy and quick to use facial moisturiser. Despite it’s texture it really performs well and is very hydrating and you will feel it. Easy to slot into any skincare routine. I love the fact this doesn’t contain colour or fragrance, which I actively try to avoid. Perfect for those with sensitivity towards those types of ingredients. It’s not the most exciting or looking moisturiser on the market in regards to packaging or product appearance, but it does the job and I would say give this a go, it will surprise you!
