  • September’s Round Up. What Products Did I Use?

September really was (and still is) an up and down month. Very busy with the new school year kicking in, crazy weather (please no more heatwaves!) and all festive occasions being thrown at us all at once! During all the madness as usual I have still managed to try out and enjoy products new to me, ranging from skin and body care to home fragrance. So what products did I use in September?

    Products I Used In September
    Lotus Flower Soap By LUSH

My first soap from LUSH, which was given to me by a friend, was Lotus Flower. This was such a lovely product to use in both the shower and the bath. It was fragrant, it cleaned the skin on my body so well without drying it out. The biggest surprise was how moisturised my skin felt AFTER use!

Glow’s Pick Your Own Wax Melts From August’s Subscription Box

Glow’s Pick Your Own Wax Melts from their August Subscription Box was gifted to me by the owner of Glow Angela. These wax melts were absolutely STUNNING! Not only in fragrance but also with how they looked. Massive sizes, each fragrance was perfectly chosen for the August subscription box theme with each slab (yes they were that big!) providing hours and hours of fragrance for the home.

Dove’s Nourishing Body Care Beauty Cream

An everyday brand I should really look at more thanks to Dove’s Nourishing Body Care Beauty Cream. A neutral and comforting fragranced body cream that was moisturising, nourishing yet left my skin matt after use.

Crafting In The Dark’s Levi 501’s Jelly Wax

As much as I love wax melts, my wax pieces only differ in fragrance, colour, size and shapes. Crafting In The Dark’s Levi 501’s Jelly Wax was totally different texture wise but still provided a good quality fragrance. And the clean up after I finished melting it was not only easy and quick but very satisfying too!

Garnier SkinActive’s Pure Charcoal Black Tissue Mask

I go through phases when it comes to using skincare tissue facemasks. But when my skin needs a little quick pick me up, I grab one. Garnier SkinActive’s Pure Charcoal Black Tissue Mask was fun and easy to use and provided the hydration my skin needed at the time.

Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub By LUSH

My second LUSH product this month came in the form of Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub. Again, given to me by a friend (I have some really sweet friends!), this was my first body scrub from LUSH and probably won’t be my last! A fresh and slightly citrus fragrance which most people would love, vibrantly blue in colour and left my skin feeling soft and smooth.

    Freeman’s Pre-Party Mask Duo

My favourite and cheapest skincare mask (and moisturizer) I’ve bought and used over the Summer. This made my skin look the great in a normal kind of way. My skin looked fresh, it looked smooth and it looked healthy. All for 67p!

    Freeman’s Pre-Party Mask Duo

Which product was my favourite? That’s a tough one because they were all so different. But I would be happy to use ALL of these products again so none of them were a disappointment.

  • July’s Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

July. You are nearly over. Was this a good month? It was a busy month with the school year coming to an end and the constant weather changes made this month challenging. But I did enjoy using a selection of products over this time period because each one was so different. So what did I use in the month of July?

    Products I used in July
Treacle Moon’s Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts

Oh I’ve missed Treacle Moon’s bath salts! I was so pleased to see them in Boots because I haven’t seen or used these in such a long time! A foaming, fragrant and affordable bath treat which is great to use regularly or give to someone as part of a gift. One day I hope they release their salts in a bigger size so I can enjoy them daily.

Treacle Moon’s Sweet Berry Kisses Bath Salts
Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Body Butter

This was included in Glow’s March Subscription Box. Body butters are such a luxurious body moisturiser, and Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Body Butter is no exception. It melts like a dream, protective and moisturising and the smell is incredible! One of my favourite body butters I’ve ever used.

Glow’s Raspberry Candy Floss Body Butter
Primark’s PS Love Opal Crush Eau de Toilette

A budget friendly fragrance, good presentation and smells really nice. But Primark’s PS Love Opal Crush Eau de Toilette could have been a little more stronger in scent with better longevity. Still a good purchase for those who don’t like strong scents or to give to a pre/teen.

Primark’s PS Love Opal Crush Eau de Toilette
I Heart Revolution’s Chocolate Lip Scrub

A fun product, smells and tastes amazing (don’t eat it!), but not my personal favourite because I’m not a lip scrub fan. I Heart Revolution’s Chocolate Lip Scrub is good for those who maybe are on the younger side and like cute packaging and scents. But I think there will be better lip scrubs out their on the market if used to help exfoliate and moisture the lips.

I Heart Revolution’s Chocolate Lip Scrub
    Safa’s Skin Therapy Oil

There’s not much you can buy for 69p, but Safa’s Skin Therapy Oil was a brilliant buy! Great size, naturally fragrant, light weight but very moisturising. 69p well spent!

    Safa’s Skin Therapy Oil
    Wild Deodorants

A new brand and a new product for me is Wild’s deodorants. Sustainable packaging, contains natural ingredients, smells great and kept me fresh for hours.

    Wild travel sized deodorants

So with another month drawing to a close I’m excited to see what products pop up in my stash in the month of August!

  • December Round Up, What Products Did I Use?

It’s now the perfect time to look back on the products I’ve used over the last 4 weeks, since December is drawing to a close. Some things I’ve enjoyed using more than others. But what I will say is I still had fun trying each of the products I’ve written about this month. So what products did I use in the festive month of December?

Some of the products used in December
Primark’s PS Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubbles

I’ve bought Bath Bubbles from Primark before and been a little disappointed by them. But Candy Cane Kisses so far has been the best one I’ve used from the store. Not perfect, but great look, size and scent.

Primark’s PS Candy Cane Kisses Bath Bubble
    Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb

I haven’t used anything from the bath bomb favourite store Lush in such a long time. Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb made me think this was a massive mistake! Cute in appearance, affordable (compared to other bath bombs they sell) and when I say I enjoyed this in the bath I mean it 100%!

    Lush’s Sleepy Bear Bath Bomb
Marks and Spencer’s Shea Butter & Honey Hand Balm

I never thought it would be possible to find budget friendly body products in Marks and Spencer, but I did! Marks and Spencer’s Shea Butter & Honey Hand Balm is a product you can repeat purchase without breaking the bank while keeping your hands in good condition.

    Marks And Spencer’s Hand Balm
    Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm

I went from one cost extreme to another when it came to hand balms this month! But I was very lucky to be given Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm rather than buying it and what a lovey gift it was! Pure luxury from it’s packaging, texture and scent.

    Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm
Primark’s PS Raspberry Ripple Bath Bubbles

My second Bath Bubbles in December from Primark in the form of their Raspberry Ripple fragranced version. Not as good as Candy Cane Kisses but an acceptable bath time treat. Ideal for those who want to keep the cost of bath products low, but not on my repeat purchase list.

Primark’s PS Raspberry Ripple Bath Bubbles
    Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts

For 99p, Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts was a great purchase. Enough for two baths, aromatic, very relaxing and provided a great start to an evening before bedtime.

    Aldi’s Lacura Sleep Bath Salts
Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower & Bath Gel

I keep forgetting about Treacle Moon, which is naughty of me! They have such good products available that you can afford to use everyday without saving for special occasions. And Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower & Bath Gel falls into this category. A beautifully scented shower and bath gel that screams Winter, which foams up so well in the bath and under £2.00!

Treacle Moon’s The Gingerbread Unicorn Shower and Bath Gel
    Aldi’s Gingerbread Reed Diffuser

My second ginger based buy in December, but this time Aldi’s Gingerbread Reed Diffuser was purchased to fragrance my home not clean my body. This didn’t break the bank but I would have happily paid a bit more if the fragrance was stronger.

    Aldi’s Gingerbread Reed Diffuser

So that’s my round up for December 2022 done and dusted. Except the Neom’s Uplifting Hand Balm which was a present, the total of all these items reviewed came up to…..

    £13.13!

  • August Review Round Up. What Products Did I Use?

It’s that time where we are close to saying goodbye to one month and welcome in the next. August was a good month for me because I got much needed time off work AND managed to go away on a family holiday! And to top it off I got to use lots of skincare, body care and home fragrance products that I haven’t used before. So what did I try, use and review in August?

Products Used & Reviewed in August
The Body Shop’s Camomile Cleansing Oil

A great cleansing product to break up and remove sun cream and make-up as a first cleanse. Easy and quick to use, very moisturising and great for those who have dry and sensitive skin or just love an oil texture.

The Body Shop’s Camomile Cleansing Oil
Bespoke London’s Wild Herbs & Tonka Bean EDP For Men

Originally bought for my teenage son and then ‘borrowed’ a few times by me! A great fragrance scent wise, packaging and super affordable.

Bespoke London’s Wild Herbs and Tonka Bean EDP for Men
    Lidi’s Cien Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Eye Contour Cream

The perfect example that skincare doesn’t have to be expensive! For less than £2.00 this eye cream from the supermarket Lidl is a great product to nourish the under eye area and keep it well conditioned.

    Lidl’s Cien Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream
Dr Organic’s Shea Butter Body Scrub

Bought from Home Bargains for just 99p, but probably is one of the worst body scrubs I’ve ever used. Good sized product, left my skin feeling quite soft but this was probably down to it containing Shea Butter. There was no exfoliating action to this so therefore NOT a body scrub!

Dr Organic’s Shea Butter Body Scrub
Scentsy’s Disney The Last Petal Wax Melt Snap Bar

I waited a long time to try Scentsy’s wax bars! The Last Petal smelt really nice and packaging would make any Disney fan happy. But the usual retail price of this wax snap bar would put me off repurchasing but at a sale price (which is what I paid) it wouldn’t.

Scentsy’s Disney The Last Petal Wax Bar
    Beauty Kitchen’s Potent Sleep Mask

A great mask to use when your skin needs a pick me up! And even better as you apply this onto the face at night and wake up to a smoother more refreshed face in the morning.

Beauty Kitchen’s Abyssinian Oil Night Halo Potent Sleep Mask
Glow’s Ruffles At The Palace August Wax Melt Subscription Box

Technically not used yet, but I was so excited to purchase this wax melt subscription box from Glow. Beautiful pieces of wax, great fragrances and the theme was right up my street!

Glow’s Ruffles At the Palace August Wax Melt Subscription Box
    Beauty Laundrette’s EDT

There’s nothing wrong with buying designer fragrances. But considering what’s currently going on across the world, not just in the UK, cheaper alternatives if possible should be at least looked at. Although Beauty Laundrette’s EDT isn’t my favourite scent for a few reasons, it will be a good purchase for someone who wants a light, white floral based feminine fragrance that doesn’t cost the earth.

    Beauty Laundrette’s EDT

So that’s my August product review round up all wrapped up in one post! I hope September brings even more interesting products to use and review.
