  • The Bath Bae’s Watermelon Bubblegum Bath Soak

    A lover of having baths, an addict when it comes to a good bath product! The range of products you can get to pop in the bath is vast! You can get these from pretty much anywhere and any shop, store or supermarket you walk into these days. What you can also do, is go online. There’s plenty of small businesses that sell, handmake and package their very own bath bombs, fizzers, bath rocks and more. As you can imagine I have an extensive bath product stash, which is always a pleasure to delve into. A few evenings ago I headed straight for The Bath Bae’s Watermelon Bubblegum Bath Soak. Bought many months ago, £4.99 for 200g.

    Why did I buy this?

    Watermelon and bubblegum? Who on earth has ever come up with such an amazing sounding combination except for The Bath Bae? This juicy, mouth dribbling combination caught my eye immediately on their website when ordering, because it sounded delicious and unusual! Why would I NOT buy and use it?

    What’s a bath soak?

    The Bath Bae’s Bath Soaks are basically powdered bath bombs. Not shaped, just pure, unadulterated bath bomb dust! So they do exactly the same thing as a bath bomb. Within each bag of 200g of bath soak, it’s the same as having two bath bombs.

    Packaging.

    I love how this company packages their bath products. The bath dust is housed in a packet. On the front it’s clear so you can see whatever bath gem is in it. Company logo on card folded over the top of the packet, and a sticker mentioning product is vegan & cruelty free is visible. On the back it’s opaque and silver in colour, almost holographic in look. To open, rip the top of the packet open and reseal when not in use. This looks quite modern but has a retro twist to it. Eye catching and appealing, perfect for gift giving.

    How does the bath soak look?

    A fine, powdered mix of baby pink and mint green colours. Not mixed together in it’s packaging. You can see the green on the bottom and the pink on the top. Colours that represent the two fragrances perfectly, and although shouldn’t, work well together look wise.

    Fragrance.

    In real life, it’s quite a refreshing, subtly scented fruit. Almost similar to red berries that’s been infused in water. This is what I get with this, but of course with the sweet notes of bubblegum added. It’s a lovely scent, great for those who like sweet inspired scents mixed in with fruity elements, without it being overloaded by sugar fragrance wise.

    In the bath.

    Rather than use the whole bag at once, I used half on one occasion and the rest another. First time I got a mix of the pink and green bath soak and as soon as it hit the water the colour and fragrance was there. The colours were pink and green twisting and turning into each other, while at the same time white foam was created as it fizzed.

    My second bath with this consisted mostly of the green section of the bath soak, as that’s the bit that was at the bottom of the packaging. The bath turned into the most stunning sea moss green ever! A totally different shade to when I first used this, and a different shade of green to what was in the packet. A total chameleon and a VERY hard bath product to photograph as each photo taken showed a different shade of green! Like the first bath, a little foam was produced. Not loads, but more than what I thought and both times it took a little while to disappear which was great. So not only was their colour and fragrance, but bubbles too!

    Recommended?

    Yes! And for a few reasons. You might not think the amount you get is a lot but it’s the right amount for one full on bath treat or two, so good value. The colouring and scent is very unusual, and if like me looking for something different, this could be it! It creates a beautiful looking bath, which not only scented my bathroom nicely but my hallway too! So the question should be, why would I NOT recommend this?

  • Superdrug’s Vitamin E Coconut Milk Moisturising Bath Soak

    Are you a shower or bath person? A shower for me is an act, a bath is an experience! If my bath was poofed away in the middle of the night, I think I would have some form of breakdown! I couldn’t live without mine as I have a bath everyday. Think of a mermaid yanked out of the sea and thrown onto the concrete streets of Manchester city centre. That would be me! My huge stash of bath bombs, bath salts and foaming bath products just wouldn’t exist and that’s not right. One product I’ve been using frequently while the weather has been warm in the UK is Superdrug’s Vitamin E Coconut Milk Moisturising Bath Soak. Bought when on a multi buy deal of buy one get one half price, normal price £3.49 for 500ml.

    Why did I buy this?

    At the time, I ordered quite a few pieces from the Vitamin E range from Superdrug, as there was a buy one get one half price deal on at the time making the products great buys. I ordered this because I love bath soaks/foam baths anyway, I love the scent of coconut and the size of 500ml is pretty much my standard must have size anyway so sold!

    What is this?

    This bath soak is created to nourish and moisturise the skin, as all of the Vitamin E products are meant to within the range. Providing lather, and leaving the skin in good condition.

    Packaging.

    500ml of bath soak comes in a neutral toned plastic bottle with a flip top lid to dispense. The look is simple, ties in perfectly with the rest of the range and looks like something you would use on a daily basis. It’s not fancy in appearance but something that the majority of people wouldn’t turn their nose up at.

    Scent.

    Beautiful. Love this! Why? It’s a very soothing scent which although does have a coconut milk fragrance to it, it’s delicate and not overally synthetic in smell. Very comforting because it’s creamy, with an almost vanilla-esq addition to it, but not too sweet. Perfectly balanced and enjoyable to inhale.

    Consistency.

    This looks like a cream bath product and not gel like. It’s creamy, off white in colour with a pearlescent effect appearance, and has a thickness to it. It’s a little runnier than other bath products I normally use. So definitely a bath soak not a bath gel, but closer to a bath cream. But an even better description would be a bath milk!

    In the bath.

    You don’t to use much, but I’m generous when it comes to using products like this. Under warm running water, this foams up quickly and so well. Lots and lots of white fluffy bubbles were produced, leaving the underneath quite clear in colour. The bubbles/foam lasts a good amount of time, which always makes bath time fun.

    The fragrance very much is there from beginning to end. Remember, this isn’t a powerhouse scent wise so doesn’t whack you in the face. It’s just not that type of fragrance. This makes it ideal if you want something that is delicate but soothing and comforting and naturally aides with relaxation.

    I found bathing in this totally calming. Bubbles, fragrance and feeling as if my skin wasn’t reacting to this provides an ideal experience.

    On my skin.

    Very gentle. My skin has settled down a lot after our recent heatwave and it seems pretty normal now. But I was using this while it was easily irritated, sore and itchy, and it was absolutely fine! Didn’t dry out the skin, didn’t make it itchy. Was super safe to use for me.

    Recommended?

    1000%! Such a simple product but its a lovely one! For the size you get this would last a decent amount of time and great for family use. Lovely scent, bubbles galore and not stripping or irritating on the body (not for me anyway!). And can we discuss the price for one moment? The Vitamin E range seems to be on some form of promotion pretty much every week without fail. Buy one get one half price seems the norm.   • Miss So…? Love Potion Fraiche

    I love a good fragrance, don’t you? Am I the only person that sprays themselves generously, wondering if I’ve overdone it then add some more? I can do this because the majority of the fragrances I use on a daily basis are super affordable to buy. And another important factor, is they’re not too strong in regards to their formulations. So no harming of senses, children or myself, when I douse myself in the stuff! One fragrance I’ve been dipping in and out of recently has been Miss So…? Love Potion Fraiche. Bought from Superdrug when it was half price, down from £7.99 to £3.98 for 50ml.

    Why did I buy this one?

    I’ve used the body mists from this brand before and I really wanted to try a slightly stronger version, as the mists I really enjoyed scent wise. The price of this was great, and the scent description on the website seemed to tick all my fragrance boxes.

    Packaging.

    The fragrance comes in a simple but quite youthful pale pink box with black text and the Miss So…? logo going across it, as it does with all their items in the range.

    The fragrance itself is in a glass spray bottle, flat bottomed with curved sides. Clear, so you can see the fragrance in it, with the Miss So…? black logo going around it mirroring the box. The lid is glass, square shaped, and what you would expect to see on many perfume bottles. Overall, the look is basic but it works. Personally, I think it’s aimed more towards the younger market of teens to mid 20’s.

    Fragrance.

    Sweet but not sickly. White florals mixed with berries with a little musk. Mouthwateringly good! Youthful, girlie, fun, definitely screams daytime to me and worn while the sun is out and the skies are clear.

    Strength & Longevity.

    Medium. Personally I could have this a little stronger because I adore it! But guess what? I just add more! It doesn’t get too heady if you reapply this. I put it on, it’s there and I enjoy it. Longevity is fine. Normally this is applied before I leave for work or heading out in general, and it’s still there when I finish but slightly lesser in strength.

    Top Tip.

    If you have other fragrances from the range, I think this would layer well with some if not all of them. I noticed this with the perfume mists I’ve worn in the past. A great way to create something bespoke and to change things up a bit when you get bored of the same scents.

    Recommended?

    Feminine, fruity, floral! If you like this killer combo of scents you will love this! I spray this on myself and it makes me smile, its beautiful! Packaging, even though I don’t think it targets a wide range of ages, there’s nothing wrong with it and no one would be offended by how it looks. To give as a gift to yourself or someone else is a budget friendly buy but a quality buy too.

    Great thing about this fragrance, is if you want to grab yourself a bottle or two, it’s half price at the time of writing this post. For less than £4.00, you can’t go wrong! Go on, treat yourself here or visit your local store with your credit card in hand because you will need it!

  • Fragrantasia’s Campfire On The Beach

    As much as I would like to make a cheeky purchase of home fragrance items such as wax melts right now, I’m not going to. I have enough wax melts to last me months and months of continuous melting. But it’s like owning multiple perfumes or body mists. Each one is used dependant on mood or occasion, and wax melts is exactly the same for me. So having a healthy amount to mix things up is a must! I was very lucky a few months to receive some wax goodies from Amy at Fragrantasia. A small UK business that handmakes their own fragranced wax in a variety of different forms and fragrances. Amy sent wax melts that she knew I hadn’t tried before, and thought I would like. One item included, and one that has been melting away recently, has been Campfire On The Beach.

    Why did I melt this one?

    Normally, fragrance/wax melt names give an idea of how it will actually smell and this I thought was interesting. Would it be fresh? Would it have warmth to it? Would it be heavy on the musk? I was dying to try so thought it was best to melt to find out.

    Appearance.

    These came in a set of 4 small dome shapes. Cream in colour, with a sprinkle of black and silver chunky glitter shapes on top. So simple but very easy on the eye.

    Fragrance.

    When I actually got these out to melt I instantly fell in love with the fragrance. Why? It reminds me so much of one of my all time favourite scents called Fireside. It has some woody notes in this, giving it a slightly masculine feel. Some musk is in there too, and a little saltiness. And with possibly floral providing subtle sweetness to it? It’s a stunner!

    In melt.

    I couldn’t help but have a childish laugh to myself as these were placed in my wax warmer. Two domes sat side by side with glittery middles put my mind in the gutter. But they melted away beautifully, and left a gorgeous liquid, almost shimmery beige coloured wax pool with the glitter floating on top. The scent was immediately there, and the room was thankful for it. 2 melts was the perfect amount and needed no more or no less.

    Strength & Longevity.

    Even though this didn’t blow my brain out of my nostrils, I would say this was a medium to strong in strength. I had another fragranced piece of wax melting in another room, plus cooking various food items at the same time, and this fought its way through like a soldier! Strong doesn’t always have to mean full on, just dominant and obvious. Longevity of this was fantastic! I loved this so much I had this on for 4 days straight. I couldn’t tell you for how many hours at a time this melted for (but it was hours). By day 4 the strength died down and I decided to change it.

    Recommended?

    Yes! Yes! Yes! This is on my list of favourite wax melts from Fragrantasia! It’s one of those scents that I could melt anytime of the year, anytime of the day and truly enjoy it! It’s such a beautiful, unusual blend that you just won’t find on the high street. And the longevity is amazing with strength perfect! I wish it was still available, but sadly, not right now as it was part of a collection. But visit the website as there are so many stunning fragrances to choose, in various shapes and sizes, you will be spoilt for choice!
