  • Bath Time On A Budget With The Body Shop’s Moringa Bath Bubble

One of the easiest ways for me to relax is in the bath. Perfect time to switch off, unwind and have some important time to myself. So it’s no wonder I have so many bath products in my collection! One product I used recently which was given to me by a friend, was The Body Shop‘s Moringa Bath Bubble. This retails for £1.50.

The Body Shop’s Moringa Bath Bubble
    What’s a Bath Bubble?

The Body Shop’s Bath Bubbles when popped into the bath produce bubbles, fragrance and colour.

    How does it look?

Wrapped in a small yellow coloured packet, Moringa Bath Bubble is a small, flat, yellow, heart shaped looking bath bomb/fizzer. Hard in feel and slightly chalky like a bath bomb. It’s very simple in look, very plain but still left me intrigued and wanting to use it.

    Fragrance

Moringa Bath Bubble‘s fragrance is an uplifting, slightly sweet floral mixed in with a touch of plant like smell. I’m not a massive floral fan. But because this isn’t heavy and doesn’t have one particular flowery scent dominating it, I found this to be really nice.

    In the bath

Under warm running water, I could see the outer layer of this Bath Bubble fizzing nicely and it started to produce small amounts of foam. By the time I came to turn the water off there was a surprising amount of foam created from such a small little item! White, fluffy, super soft and airy foam lay on the top of a slightly yellow/marine coloured bath water, which impressed me greatly. The original fragrance I could smell when I opened the packet was what I could smell in my bathroom, but it was beautifully subtle which I loved!

This was a very relaxing and enjoyable bath. On my skin, I felt Moringa Bath Bubble was quite moisturising on the skin. I didn’t feel I needed to use anything straight away on my skin after I got out of the bath because my skin wasn’t dried out at all.

Before I was given this I didn’t realise that The Body Shop made these AND bath bombs. I didn’t realise that a small £1.50 love heart would be of such high quality and unbelievably affordable and create so many bubbles. Fab little bath time treat which doesn’t break the bank, so totally recommended!

  • Strawberry Melts Rhubarb Rose Dove Wax Melts

Wax melts are an incredibly versatile form of home fragrance. They come in different sizes, shapes, fragrances and price points. There is always some form of wax that will fit everyone’s fragrance need guaranteed! In the UK we are lucky to have lots of small wax melt companies who produce beautifully scented wax pieces, including Strawberry’s Wax Creations (formally called Strawberry Wax Melts). One of my recent wax melts I’ve used from this small business is called Rhubarb Rose Dove, which cost £2.50 for a pack o 3 wax melts.

    Strawberry Melts Rhubarb Rose Dove
    Why did I buy this?

I chose this because I’ve had Rhubarb Rose and Dove separately in wax melts in the past. Both smelt gorgeous and I thought the two combined scent wise should be a winner!

    How do these look?

These melts came in a pack of three. They are a good size with one being perfect to use in a wax warmer. Each wax melt is shaped as flower. They aren’t identical in colour but similar, with different shades of pink and purple running through each.

    Fragrance

This is a fruity, uplifting scent with a floral rose element to it. It’s also has a hint of being clean and fresh in a bar of soap kind of way (literally Dove the soap bar scent!). The floral, fruit and clean combo gives an interesting and beautiful scent which most people would adore.

    In Melt

These took a little time to melt because they are small but quite chunky. The flower slowly drowned and turned into a very pale lilac shimmering molten pool which was very pretty.

    Strength & Longevity

I would describe the strength of Rhubarb Rose Dove wax melt as being medium to strong. This was on melt for over 3 days and was still kicking out an obvious fragrance. By the time I changed it it was purely because I wanted to change wax not because the scent had died. So strength and longevity were excellent!

100%! I LOVE this scent! Why? It’s a well balanced mix of rhubarb, floral rose and THAT typical clean scent from a certain bar of soap. It’s comforting, it’s pretty and it’s one of those fragrances I defy anyone not to like.

Strawberry’s Wax Creations have lots of beautifully fragranced wax melts available on their website here. They change with every restock, so grab what you want and need when you can.

  • Luxury Scented Nuxe’s Prodigieux Eau de Parfum

Fragrances. I think it’s safe to say most of us love a good body mist, eau de toilette, eau de parfum or a body spray. Whatever form it comes in we buy them and use them either daily or save for special occasions. I’m probably a bit of a hoarder when it comes to this type of product. So I’m not surprised I forgot I even owned Nuxe Prodigieux Eau de Parfum. I originally bought this in a gift set when it was on sale after Christmas, which also contained a shower oil and body lotion.

    Why did I buy this?

Nuxe skincare, body products and fragrances aren’t the cheapest of products. So to get a gift set that contained products that I wanted to try and at a great price isn’t something I was going to pass up.

    Packaging

30ml of eau de parfum is housed in a thin glass bottle with a gold lid. The bottle itself is quite simple in look but beautiful, and mirrors the style of the box it comes in. Both have an ombre effect, as the base is a gorgeous copper colour and gets lighter to the point it’s clear in the bottle but the box is gold. Elegant, sophisticated and quite expensive in look.

    Nuxe Prodigieux Perfume
    Fragrance

This is what I would call quite a classic scent. It’s feminine, floral with the tiniest hint of citrus, musk and vanilla. The floral element for me stands out more. It’s not all fresh and flowery as it has a warmth to it, This makes it a richer, heavier scent rather than a light and whimsical one.

    Strength & Longevity

I assumed this would be very strong and possibly linger in an overpowering way regardless of how much I used. Strangely enough this wasn’t the case at all. I could smell this all day when I wore this in work but it was subtle and pleasant, and didn’t make me feel like a walking fragrance counter from a department store. So strength is medium with great longevity.

This is not only a beautifully presented fragrance, but it smells just as good too. It would appeal to many people of different ages. But ideal for those who want a fragrance to smell traditional, timeless and not dictated by trends or gimmicks. I’m so glad I took the plunge and got this fragrance. Compared to other fragrances in my collection, this one I don’t feel would date and would be quite timeless so this gets a massive thumbs up from me.

  • Druid and the Witch Rainbow Cloud

Bath bombs are available everywhere. Shops, supermarkets, discount stores. But how many people buy their bath time treats from small businesses who make and sell their own bath products?. I definitely do! One business I’ve bought bath products from has been Druid and the Witch. I purchased a collection of products from them including their Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb last year. Individually this costs £2.20.

Rainbow Cloud by Druid and the Witch
    How does this look?

No surprises but this comes in the shape of a cloud. It’s flat and takes up the palm of my hand so a really good size. On the front it’s mainly white in colour with a delicate addition of light purple highlighting around the edge. There’s also a slight shimmer to this bath bomb and a hand painted silver lightening bolt shape on the left hand side of it. If you look on the bottom edge of Rainbow Cloud you can see different colours popping through ( purple, blue, yellow ) giving you a hint of what’s to come when this is added to a bath.

    Fragrance

This was labelled as Blueberry Lemon in scent. When I took this out of its plastic wrapper and gave it a little sniff there was a faint smell of something citrusy but if I’m honest it wasn’t strong or clear what exactly this was fragranced with.

    In the bath

While warm running water was filling my bath, Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb spun round and round like a windmill. As it was turning it released streams of different colours. It wasn’t as uniformed as what I thought it would be e.g separate straight lines of colour, but colour was there. While the different colours was released ( green, purple and yellow ), some foam was created. Once the has disappeared altogether, it turned the water in the bath into a pretty sea topped off with fluffy foam.

One thing that did disappoint me a little was lack of fragrance. It was barely there. Was this to do with the fact I had this bath bomb in my stash for awhile? Too long that it lessened the fragrance of it? Not too sure. But fragrance was what Rainbow Cloud Bath Bomb was lacking.

    On the skin

No issues for me, no irritation, and I continued with my usual after bathing ritual of moisturising with a body lotion while feeling very relaxed.

    Recommended?

I would happily try this out again in a different fragrance and use straight away once purchased to see if the fragrance behaves differently. As mentioned, it was only the smell or lack of that didn’t quite grab me but everything else I enjoyed. It’s affordable, kids would love this and overall I think it was fun. So would I recommend this? I would say give it a go if you like a bit of bath art from your bath bomb.

Druid and the Witch have lots of bath and body treats available that come in various forms, fragrances and budgets here.
