Showering or lazing in the bath is what most of us do once or twice a day. Personally, I’m a bath girl and so is my daughter. My son is the opposite, and loves a morning and evening shower. So this means the amount of products I have to buy can be varied because of our different needs. I avoid fragrance and colouring for my daughter. My son has no skin issues so can use anything, but the product needs to smell nice. So I decided to pick Superdrug’s Fruity Lavender & Vanilla Shower Gel for him and myself. So, what is it like?
Why did I buy it?
I’ve bought many of Superdrug’s Fruity body mists and loved them! But that’s all I’ve purchased from the range, but wanted to see what their shower gels were like. They’re regularly on price promotion so affordable. These shower gels come in a variety of fragrances so something to suit everyone. I choose Lavender & Vanilla because it was something different. Scent wise I knew I would love it and hoped my son would love it too.
Packaging
Tall, quite thin and clear with an eye catching and fun looking label illustrating what the fragrance of this is in. Flip top lid, 30% of the packaging is made up of recycled plastic and overall will sit nicely in any bathroom.
Fragrance
Most people have a love or hate opinion when it comes to lavender, but that’s mainly if it’s strong and purely lavender. I’m not a massive fan of lavender on its own but mixed with other scents it can be special, like this one. There’s no denying this is lavender scented. It’s herbal and obvious. But mixed in with the vanilla it gives it a slight creaminess, a softness which makes it very appealing. I’m not sure if it’s the lavender or the vanilla, but this has a sweetness to it making it really enjoyable to smell, and perfect for night time use if needing to relax. DUPE ALERT: Smells similar to the LUSH Sleepy range!
Look & consistency
Fluid, shiny, lilac in colour and very typical in consistency to the majority of shower gels on the market. Exactly what you would expect and probably hope for.
In the shower/bath
I mainly use this in the bath. It foams up beautifully creating soft, tiny and fluffy small bubbles. Lathers up well on a sponge and not only cleans my skin as I would hope a shower gel does, but smells amazing as well. For someone who can have irritated skin during warmer months, this product didn’t dry my skin out or irritate it any way.
Size & price
250ml for £1.90 BUT products from the Fruity range regularly are on promotion and currently 95p at time of writing this post (with Superdrug’s Beauty card).
Recommended?
Cleans the body well, enjoyable to use, great fragrance and budget friendly price? Most definitely recommended! If the fragrance isn’t for you there are LOADS of different versions of this shower gel including Orange & Satsuma and Coconut & White Peach. So something for everyone.
