  • Nivea’s Beeswax Hand Cream

Everyone’s hands have been through a lot over the last 5 months. To fight this awful virus that’s been thrown upon us, washing hands thoroughly has been highlighted as being important, and if not possible to sanitize them. And goodness wash and sanitize I have! So much so at one stage I thought my hands would break off. And that’s when a decent hand cream is needed. Nivea’s Beeswax hand cream was given to me as a gift, which I’ve been using for the past few weeks

    Nivea Beeswax Hand cream
What is this hand cream supposed to do?

Like all hand cream’s this is designed to stop your hands from drying out. By not only protecting them but adding moisture. This formulation is supposed to provide this result all day, in fact 24hrs, as the packaging states.

    Packaging

75ml of hand cream is stored within a white plastic tube. Screw top lid, with the well known navy coloured Nivea logo visible on it, an illustration of beeswax indicating the scent/version it is and relevant information on back e.g ingredients. Simple, clear and very much is part of the packaging appearance and style of the brand overall.

    Fragrance

I would describe this as being quite sweet in fragrance, with a honey aspect to it but not identical. It has a delicate powdery background to it, making it more clean than syrupy scented. Very pleasant.

    Consistency & Appearance

White in colour, with a texture which is very similar to a body lotion and is smooth in consistency.

    In use

My hands have improved greatly over the last few months, so the dryness has settled down. I apply this when my hands feel tight, and more so at home as its more convenient to grab it than to use at work, which isn’t practical most of the time. I use about half of the size of a 5p per application.

    After Application

There definitely was a look and feel of my hands being moisturised once it had been applied. My hands didn’t look greasy. In fact they almost looked matt. But the colour of my hands looked less dull and ashy. Not only did they not look greasy but they didn’t feel it either. There was definitely some form of protective barrier on them as I could feel it, but it didn’t stop me using my hands freely e.g driving.

After initially applying the hand cream and getting on with my day, my hands were no worse over time but did feel as if they needed more of it to be applied to give my hands the luster they received when I first used it. One thing that I think stayed the same was the light scent left on my hands.

    Recommended?

If the condition of your hands is normal, or you just want a hand cream to use if and when needed and you have no real issues, this would do the job. This is a decent and standard size for a hand cream so will last a while. Can be bought cheaply and the scent is nice. For me I would prefer a richer texture which really cocooned my hands for longer. So not my favourite hand cream but is a decent one.

Can be purchased from a variety of places online and instore, such as Wilko, Home Bargains and Amazon. Prices range from £1.00 to £2.50.

  • Boujee Scents Fresh Unstoppable Wax Melt Snap Bar

Always a sucker for new wax melts! Highly fragranced, looks pretty, good price. All of these things I like to tick off my wish list when I make a new purchase. Sometimes I find new wax vendors, sometimes they find me! Boujee Scents are a business new to me who sell wax snap bars, reed diffusers and candles. They kindly sent three wax snap bars to try out, and the first one to be melted was Fresh Unstoppable.

Packaging. I have to say this really gives the wax bar the ‘wow’ factor! This wax melt snap bar came in a box which is the same shape as the bar itself. Pink in colour, with a printed sparkling dripping effect going down from the top to the middle. At the bottom is a cut out heart shape which gives you the perfect window to see the wax bar inside.

Boujee Scent’s Fresh Unstoppable Wax Snap Bar

Appearance of wax. A cream coloured rectangular 5 segmented wax bar. A delicate drizzle of iridescent glitter pieces gives it a glam shimmer. And when the light hits this bar it gives it an almost mermaid type effect.

Scent. Clean, fresh, great punchy fragrance which I can only describe as a typical and much loved laundry scent. Floral is present, a hint of fruitiness,a touch of a powdery element and there is the scent.

In melt. I was going to add 2 pieces to my warmer but opted for 1. It melted slowly, thoroughly, evenly. And the scent was there from beginning to end. As it warmed through the scent released that little bit stronger and fuller.

Strength & Longevity. I’m glad I went with the 1 piece of wax as this did the job as it was quite strong! Laundry scents can be very overwhelming but this strength was perfect. I had this one piece of wax melting for over 3 days roughly for 10hrs in total and the scent was still there and smelt lovely.

Price. £2.50 per wax snap bar which gives many many hours of melt and fragrance time!

Recommended? I’m very excited to now know Boujee Scents and grateful that they shared their wax bars with me. Not only is the packaging striking, but the quality and strength of the wax is fantastic and their is a great variety of different scents available to purchase too.

Do you remember my three point check list I mentioned at the beginning of this post? Boujee Scents Fresh Unstoppable Wax Melt Snap bar passed the test! Recommended 110%!

  • The Sweet Inspired Fragrantasia’s Cotton Candy Wax Melt

What people like fragrance wise is a very personal thing. One of the fragrance types I like are sweet inspired scents. I LOVE them! So I was very happy to receive a selection of wax melts gifted by wax vendor Fragrantasia, which included Cotton Candy. So was it as good as I had hoped?

    Fragrantasia’s Cotton Candy Wax Melt
    How did it look?

Fragrantasia’s Cotton Candy Wax Melt came in a small, light pink flower shape. Chunky and thick but ideal to pop in whole into a wax warmer. No cutting or snapping, just use and go!

    F
    Fragrance

This particular wax melt has a sugary sweet scent to it, with hints of creamy vanilla and strawberries mixed into it. If you think of what cotton candy the fluffy sweet smells like, it’s very similar to this. Gorgeous!

    In melt

This wax melt melted slowly and evenly, leaving a soft pink coloured wax pool. The scent I could smell straight away while it warmed through, and was exactly the same scent as it was before melting.

    Strength & Longevity

Strength wise this is a medium. I melted this in my kitchen and it filled this small space perfectly. It made it feel cosy, inviting and smelt beautiful. This was melting for over two days for at least 5 hours per day, with the scent still present. Cotton Candy Wax Melt only got changed because I wanted a different scent from a different piece of wax, not because the scent had disappeared. So not only great in strength but lasted well too.

    Recommended?

If you love your sweet inspired scents you will love this. It smells so good, literally mouth watering, but not sickly sweet or synthetic in smell. Very cute in look, great strength and longevity and this size of wax melt retails for only £1.00!

  • Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant 2 in 1 Moisturiser & Serum

When you love skincare but don’t have a massive budget, you need to look at different brands with lower price points. Many stores have their own ranges, which most of the time are very affordable and can be just as good as bigger brands. One store that has their own range of skincare products is Superdrug, including their Naturally Radiant 2 in 1 Moisturiser & Serum. But is it any good?

    Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant 2in1 Moisturiser & Serum
    Why did I buy this?

This product, along with others from this range, regularly are on special promotions e.g half price, buy one get one free. When they’re half price and the products sound interesting, it makes buying them very appealing, so I bought this! It sounded good, easy to slot into my skincare routine and affordable. BOUGHT!

What is this supposed to do?

Naturally Radiant 2 in 1 Moisturiser & Serum is supposed to give the skin a natural radiance and even out skin tone. It also provides hydration in a light weight formulation the skin will love.

    Packaging

50ml of Naturally Radiant 2 in 1 Moisturiser & Serum comes in a pump action bottle. Like the rest of the range, because of its colouring (green) and simplistic labelling, the appearance fits in well within the ‘natural’ skincare type niche.

    Consistency & Texture

This reminds me of moisturising gels. This product is white but has a slight sheerness to it. Its very light in texture, and looks like a cross between a face cream and a gel.

    Fragrance

The fragrance of this is identical to the other products I’ve tried in this range. Its quite fresh and clean in scent. There is a subtle flowery and sweetness to it which makes it very pleasant.

    How to use

2 to 3 pumps of product applied to cleansed face and neck, using circular motions every morning.

    On the skin

When applied onto my skin, I didn’t need much. It was easy and quick to apply and sank in immediately. This is one of those products that feels very light on the skin, almost as if nothing has been applied to it, but obviously there had been. My skin looked matt, but not dry, and felt slightly hydrated.

I can’t say whether this helped to even out my skin tone. At the time of using Naturally Radiant 2 in 1 Moisturiser & Serum, my skin was very even in colouring and texture. But as a product, I enjoyed using it, slotted into my routine well, gave my skin a nice feel but I didn’t suffer massive skin issues for me to see big changes.

    Recommended?

This is a good product for a few different people, in my opinion:

    1. Younger people ( teens to 30 ) who don’t have particular concerns with their skin and want a good quality product that’s easy and quick to apply.
    2. Men. They want to use skincare but need something that sinks in quickly and no messing about with numerous products.
    3. Budget. You’re on a budget and you don’t want to buy a face cream and a serum and overall don’t want to spend lots of money.
    4. Multi purpose needed and time starved. Pretty much as above but you’re one of those people who has literally 5 mins in the morning to get dressed and out of the door AND sort your face out.
    5. Summer. Lighter textures are great when the season is warmer and heavier textured products don’t sit as comfortably on skin as they do during cooler/colder times.
    Would I buy this again?

Not sure. For what it is, its a decent moisturiser. And at certain times this would be very handy as mentioned in warmer weather. But I prefer to apply a separate serum and facial cream so I can tailor it to what my skin needs. I don’t think my skin would massively benefit from using this, or massively miss out.

If this sound like an ideal skin care product for you, visit Superdrug online or instore . *At time of writing this post, this product is £8.99 and on buy one get one free promotion which can be mixed and match through the Naturally Radiant range.
